I repeat, how can a Metroline driver confirm anything about what Arriva may or may not do in regards to the 34. Whatever happened to taking things with a pinch of salt until it's confirmed? Agree with your overall opinion that we should wait until more information is confirmed and take whatever that driver says with a pinch of salt, but I think he was referring to the 34s current VWHs being refurbished for a new contract in November 2019. It would be great if he can make himself absolutely clear as to what he is talking about - thank you for clearing it up.

I agree let's wait till official information is confirmed. The 34s new contract does start in November 2019. Except the 34 goes to Arriva and won't be with Metroline!

Sorry if I have been unclear
What I was trying to say is:
The 34 goes to Arriva in November 2019, but the 'current' vehicles on it will be transferred to another route.
Hoppe that makes me sound clearer

Welp the 240 is full of TEs. TEs suit EW so much better than VWs. Metroline VWs are boring and overused, enjoy the nice beastly TEs before they’re all gone

Welp the 240 is full of TEs. This is common when bus routes are retained with different buses - There is no rush to replace them straight away unlike when a route is won. I don't know why everybody thought the 240 would get its buses immediately on time. As for existing TEs, they will almost definitely go, considering their age and the fact Metroline is replacing them from a few different garages. The 240 will still most likely get its VWs, unless TEHs are decided to be used instead - and if they are then I'm afraid you'll have to wait another couple of months for them to go on the 240.

So would be new or existing. We shall see what happens. In addition to the VWHs I can see them be retained at PB for the 125 extension to cover the allocation once the 34 is gone.

We need TP446 back, constant speculation with no justification is getting too much now an i know it's a forum but I can't be the only one who feels this way. I agree. You don’t appreciate someone until they’ve gone.

VMHs will be released anyway when the 43's BDEs are in service, and TEHs would be released if the 271 were to gain the intended VWHs. However, there will still be a few 14reg VWHs surplus to the 4, with a few more freed up by the Blackfriars curtailment - plus there's a few examples yet to transfer from PV. Perhaps these could become allocated route W7 (plus the 143D), topped up by some 64reg from the 34, reducing types at HT to a shared G3 Mk1 VWH fleet between the 4/17/271/W7. If AC does gain some 64reg VWHs, these would only be to displace the 62reg G2 VWHs, so not all from the 34 would be needed. A few may also be kept at PB for the 125 extension to Colindale (unless the frequency is reduced). Coming back to this from Easter Monday, the spare handful of Mk 1 VWHs could convert route 317. The full batch could therefore cover routes 4, 17, 125, 271, 317 & W7, once route 34 is lost. VMHs would no longer be needed at HT or PB. TEHs wouldn't be needed at HT either and could return to W to replace more TEs, and the final TAs if still there by then. The remaining 64reg VWHs on the 317 would definitely make sense, given the route was awarded with hybrids. If any TAs at W are still currently needed (rather than being just spares), this is likely due to many of the early TEs having already been withdrawn. When the 266 is lost, the 13reg batch of TEHs, plus the 2 61reg examples at W, would be sufficient for the 210 and school routes. This would reduce the non-LT DD fleet at W to just TEHs (including MMCs). The 60reg TEs could be displaced elsewhere, perhaps to PB? I would suggest to instead send the 60reg TEHs back to EW, for either the 107, 240, 292 and/or 606.

I agree with you on the rest. I find I am skipping over a lot more posts these days. I won't say more or else I'll get "told off" for daring to express an opinion.

Did anyone hear about the stabbing that happened on the 245 yesterday in Cricklewood Broadway, loads of bus routes towards Golders Green and the 189 was diverted, knife crime has just rapidly increased in London, I feel like I just don't like this city anymore

I agree and worry the forum is changing not for the better. The constant speculation on tenders and fantasy route extensions is getting a bit OTT for me personally.
