Could VMHs head to the 282, any spare there can get rid of the 2009 E400 which enters the Uxbridge Road for a small section. Would this affect the route needing complient buses? Depends on whether there is an exception for the corridor - I don’t know if other corridors have one but the Brixton one had an exception for the 37, 690 & P5 who served a tiny section of the corridor in one direction only (all 3 routes have buses modified to Euro VI now anyway). In any event, it shouldn’t make a difference as the 282 will need Euro VI compliant vehicles by next year for the extended ULEZ.

I think the effect of route 31 missing out on VMHs will lead to a batch diverted to route 282, especially if retained upon retender.

Coming back to this from Easter Monday, the spare handful of Mk 1 VWHs could convert route 317. The full batch could therefore cover routes 4, 17, 125, 271, 317 & W7, once route 34 is lost. VMHs would no longer be needed at HT or PB. TEHs wouldn't be needed at HT either and could return to W to replace more TEs, and the final TAs if still there by then. Out of the 34’s buses, some will almost certainly move onto the 125 for its extension to Colindale which would probably leave enough to convert the W7 in order for greater flexibility at HT. I still see the 317 continuing with TE’s personally. While I agree that at least the route 82/134 TEs would be suitable for route 317, I think it comes down to whether say 6 VWHs are spare after the route 34 & 125 changes. In this case this would be the right number for route 317, and PB a good garage for them as route 125 will still have them.

H2 still shows the destination as "No Information" on LVF and I'm pretty sure that on countdown displays it says "SEE BUS BLIND". Does anyone know what this issue is to do with? I'm sure these buses have a fully functioning iBus system by now right?
Also interesting: I've just noticed that the VMHs at EW have the "Station" qualifier for Queensbury only. I wonder why they didn't just standardise this to all destinations (Edgware, Golders Green, New Barnet etc.) to make them as specific as possible, just as they have done with "Brent Cross" which is now "Brent Cross Shopping Centre" on VW/VWHs.

The H2 is a one-way circular route back to Golders Green station, and has no 'hesitation point' midway for the swapping of the blind.

Ah, but was it not in the past displayed as "Golders Green" on LVF and countdown when the route was under Arriva?

Will the buses on the 34 be refurbished? Was on one earlier and the seats were worn out.
EDIT: Yes they will be for the new contract, according to the driver.

The new contract is with Arriva and hasn't been confirmed whether it's new or existing buses yet so not sure how a Metroline driver can confirm anything. The 34's current buses are VWH's and will likely be deployed on other Metroline routes.

I repeat, how can a Metroline driver confirm anything about what Arriva may or may not do in regards to the 34. Whatever happened to taking things with a pinch of salt until it's confirmed?

Agree with your overall opinion that we should wait until more information is confirmed and take whatever that driver says with a pinch of salt, but I think he was referring to the 34s current VWHs being refurbished for a new contract in November 2019.

I agree let's wait till official information is confirmed. The 34s new contract does start in November 2019.
