What's happening with the WS's once they have finished on the 192? I don't think there is really a reason to retain them, the 379 has its 2 17-plate WS's and the W10 can stick with SEN38 ateast for now. I reckon they will be reterned to whoever owns them as they are most likely leased. or the W10 can have WS46

What's happening with the WS's once they have finished on the 192? I think Go Ahead will try to keep as few as possible given they're trying to get rid of as many ''ice cream van'' WSs as possible, unless one is kept for the W10, I think there's a good chance all will leave Go Ahead London

It was 170 and MEC51?

Where is the evidence that they're trying to get rid of WS's? My source is TP1 who posted the words ''ice cream van'' on this thread with reference to the WSs. Calling them "ice cream vans" doesn't imply Go-Ahead are actively trying to get rid - after all, they ordered them having previously ordered 48 examples and then ordered 100 more after so they knew what they were getting. Two batches have so far left - the 327/491 batch left because it was likely deemed simply not worth extending/buying out the lease whilst the first 192 batch involved a mix up with the Cummins batch going back and being replaced with the current Daimler batch.

Could be wrong but I believe TP1 did state one is being retained for the W10, the 379 will be keeping its 2 but the rest should be going off lease.

These were TP1's exact words; ''Correct. I think it's a cost saving measure so they can get rid of most of the ice cream van WS's from the 192. Keeping 4 for the 379 and W10. Whether the Sunday extension is kept in the long term is still up for discussion.''
E279 also cited this post the other day when mentioning getting rid of the WSs referring the them as ''ice cream truck''.

The fact that the effort went into converting the Sunday op of the 357 to SEe over the WSs is a small pointer towards the WSs not being in favour of being kept. GAL have more useful SEs coming available off the 100 & 364 as well in the coming weeks which can fill any gaps at MB. I would imagine the whole batch will be off the road tomorrow heading back to the lessor, besides why exactly would they keep them, its hard to find one being used at MB on a Sunday...

If Go Ahead are trying so hard the reduce the number of WSs in the fleet then it seems pretty ironic they have a batches on 19-reg WSs on the 227 and 232. Are they trying to get rid of certain batches? the one door variant? the type in general? Or is it just bluster?

They're cheaper, this is the issue with a system where the central authority TFL don't really care and the ops just submit the cheapest bids with the minimum requirement vehicles - at the end of the day it's just finger pointing to a state where the bus system is now mile behind pretty much every other city and large town in the country (at least where First don't operate). Also where else would GAL use over a dozen diddy WSs
