Wouldn't go as far as calling them ice cream vans.
Fair enough they aren't the best to drive, heavy steering, sharp brakes, and an iBus MDT position that can result in whiplash from merely checking your headway, but I'd rather drive them than other buses I could name:
Such as SENs that rattle and vibrate so hard every time you stop they could make you deaf, and have nothing in the way of suspension AT ALL.
Or rather a WS than those SEs with the stupid semi auto gearbox that feels like driving over a trampoline.
And much rather drive a WS that regenerates on the move so doesn't derate unlike SEs with the emissions light on, which a snail could outrun...

Calling them "ice cream vans" doesn't imply Go-Ahead are actively trying to get rid - after all, they ordered them having previously ordered 48 examples and then ordered 100 more after so they knew what they were getting. Two batches have so far left - the 327/491 batch left because it was likely deemed simply not worth extending/buying out the lease whilst the first 192 batch involved a mix up with the Cummins batch going back and being replaced with the current Daimler batch. These were TP1's exact words; ''Correct. I think it's a cost saving measure so they can get rid of most of the ice cream van WS's from the 192. Keeping 4 for the 379 and W10. Whether the Sunday extension is kept in the long term is still up for discussion.''
E279 also cited this post the other day when mentioning getting rid of the WSs referring the them as ''ice cream truck''.
If they were actively getting rid, then they wouldn't be thinking of keeping 4 back

Looks like WS63 will take the honours of operating the last 192 under Go-Ahead London

Few days late on my behalf... 379 has WS79/80 W10, I guess let's see tomorrow. Personally, I think WS46 was the best at NP. As for the ice cream van thing, just a little joke at NP as they're hated up to a management level. That and calling the 192 a Mickey Mouse route... ;-)

Now this is strange...It seems as though E39 has somehow gained an advert on the left hand side for contactless payments on Metrobus's Crawley services! Just seen a photo of it on Facebook. I know C is still technically a Metrobus garage by name but unless this has visited CY recently,, I'm not sure how it manage to pick up that advert

Exterion were supposed to do 10 x CY buses (which have now been done)

It’s been reported that the near side camera casing of EH343 has been knocked off exposing the internal wiring but the camera itself is still working normally

SE304 - SE314 are all taxed now according to the GOV site. Just 4 left that are not on the GOV site. Hopefully we will see these enter service soon, looking forward to seeing the 07 withdrawn/relocated, the batch is terrible.
