AL’s blind presentation has been horrid for a long time now, long before the 157 came along, I certainly cannot defend it. It’s been posted about for ages including by myself but now with the 157 win everyone’s noticing it as if it was a brand new issue. Seems to be a common theme when new routes are won, I remember when I would mention the 25s issues under Tower Transit but it often got dismissed but once they won the 13 opinion quickly changed and people started noticing the state of their other routes. Certainly happy that operator is confined to the history books. AL seems to be a separate case - they have been the one Go-Ahead garage down here that I've been unimpressed with in terms of standards involving blinds and presentation of their vehicles for a long while now. Service wise, 157 aside, I think they are fine but they do need to work on the presentation side of things. Those 09 reg E's had next to no issues at SW but for the last number of years at AL, they have been in a state especially compared to SW's own E's which, whilst a couple of years younger, don't have blind issues and still look pretty decent. Mechanically, E123 was also pretty shocking - did a full ride on the 157 a few weeks ago and it had a acceleration impediment in it's early gears which mean it took a while to get up to speed. It could only manage Anerley Hill in gear 2 - WVL431 in comparison had no issue and driven even took his foot off the pedal such was the ease it went up there. Now it did better than T193 which crawled up it - I've had 59 reg T's climb the hill far better than it or E123

Similarly to the Ts none of them could get up the top part of Anerley Hill smoothly however I can vouch for E115, 117, 119, 121 and 124 being fairly quick buses otherwise, possibly others I’ve forgotten. I think the 118’s SN60s are significantly worse at performance whilst the 337’s SN11s are the best.

But for a long time it was just a dumping ground of existing vehicles.

I had some good 59 reg T's on the 157 up Anerley Hill, SW similarly do have some good 60 reg E's as well. Problem with majority of Enviro 400 batches is they are really hit and miss with only the Voith E's being quite consistently good across the board (except E15 for a long time which wasn't good)

What are the fleet numbers of the Ee's that will be on the 473 and 333? Believe an order was confirmed now.

Rode E120 on the 157 today up Anerley Hill and full journey. on hills and especially Anerley Hill it was basically holding on for dear life. I like tridents on the 157 but that was just a whole another level. Wonder how the Ees will take Anerley Hill, hopefully it’s pretty smooth.

The majority I have seen have blind issues either with A4 paper or just the number showing E100-128 are fine when they were at SW & Q for Route 345 with little blind issues whenever I see them on any route they look dreadful now at AL. Overall the 157 blind presentation has been shocking under AL. I saw a picture of WVL435 with a printed A4 sheet showing Special service. A few weeks ago a WVL fully blinded for 163 Morden with 157 stuck over the front blind box. It seems as a general rule, the ex East London WVLs generally have good blinds for the 157 ... unfortunately there is not enough of them for the whole allocation, and then whatever else turns up on the route ... well we are entering the wild west territory, not sure if it is bandit or cowboy country though. Yeah the ex D7 WVLs were well prepared for 157.

473 is currently running from SI, so assuming this is on a temporary basis until the electrics are ready and then will move to DS.

@notcha I wonder if you can confirm if the 366 and 376 will move to RR on Saturday? I know it's all dependent on infrastructure work. LOTS online news and TLB seems to suggest the 376 will move regardless and take the existing E200s until electrics are ready. I would have assumed the 376 could stay at SI and move once the new buses are inn place and infrastructure works are complete. Is there any news on the 147 moving to SI? Thanks 376 is still based at SI
