I'd second that movement for the one at the top of Cambridge Road in Barking, the amount of traffic that causes for the volume of buses that pass through it is just unacceptable. I'd like to know what goes through people's minds when a particular crossing is installed because there are plenty of instances where a pelican crossing has been placed yet is not busy enough to justify yet that example you mention is one where a pelican crossing is better suited. I've long said there are too many crossings in London - for example, all 4 pelican crossings on Brixton Hill should really zebra crossings and arguably one of the crossings shouldn't really exist. I guess most zebra crossings are changed due to local people saying they are unsafe.

Whether that's the case, I don't know (wouldn't surprise me) but that's not the point I'm making - the crossing's on Brixton Hill were not originally zebra crossings but were brand new crossings - three were installed in the late 90's to early 00's whilst the fourth was earlier this year about 250-500 yards down from the one of the crossings installed 20 odd years ago. Two of the crossing's do serve a purpose, particularly the one by Hayter Road which was to provide a safe place for Sudbourne schoolkids however outside of a 30min to 1 hour period, it's not heavily used enough.

The old Heston zebra crossing used to cause extreme traffic at school times when everyone used it, but no problems for the rest of the day. Traffic improved once it became traffic lights in 2017. Zebra crossings don't work when there is a constant stream of pedestrians, even for a short period of the day.

I can't comment on Heston but I don't think there would be an increase for the example I gave especially as the crossing is not in constant use but merely has a steady stream even at it's busiest period.

I don't mind pelican crossings as such but prefer the ones that are still programmed to flash on amber over the newer countdown system, the latter being annoyingly too long on the red on some on the traffic. I think the new one on Brixton Hill by what used to be Brixton College¹ are additionally triggered to change red if cars are approaching too fast from further down the road as I've noticed they do tend to change red when nobody's requested it at silly o clock.
¹ ‐ I believe it's now a secondary school

Saw this on DE20178 on the 72 guessing it's something to do with speed? View Attachment I think it’s a dashcam. This and the rest of the 11reg while they were still at SO also had them fitted.

Saw this on DE20178 on the 72 guessing it's something to do with speed? Nope, it’s a Lytx camera, we have them at Ensignbus www.lytx.com/en-gb/So ibus could potentially see live what's going on in front of the bus?

So ibus could potentially see live what's going on in front of the bus? No, select garage management only, iBus wouldn’t and would have no reason to view images/video or data from the device

Since when did TfL’s riverboats use Mobitec side blinds? Currently on one and it was certainly a surprise to see
