Also the 20’s Cities aren’t actually Ultracaps, they’re regular battery ones like the 26’s and 388’s. However what you’re referring to I find it quite likely the 2 on order will be ultracap as I believe the regular battery ones are out of production now? The E400 Citys on the 20 are Ultracaps hybrids as rear nearside battery area has fewer vents compared to full battery E400 MMC hybrids, its just that vents on the E400H Citys are coloured black where as the vents on a standard E400H MMC's are coloured red hence why its little bit harder to notice that on the 20's buses.

Further adding the Ultracap version completely replaced the battery version of the buses according to one of the press releases as they still produce the same amount of power.

Thanks for that, was told on here (obviously incorrectly) that they were batteries. And DW135 I apologise for miscorrecting you

Apologies that was me sometime in February quoting 11kW batteries. I did not realise they were the ultracap version. Lead times for high capacity batteries (Lithium-ion and Nickel-Metal Hydride) are increasing due to the ever changing demand for electric vehicles. I have taken delivery of a plug in hybrid vehicle last month and it took almost 9 months from point of order to delivery.

Do ADL even manufacture the original battery powered hybrid Enviro 400 MMC and City or do they only do Smart Hybrids (which aren't really even hybrids) and ultracap ones?

No, the Ultracap version fully replaced the battery E40Hs. I think the last batch of battery E40Hs were for either the 196 or X68. The smart hybrid is not a full hybrid, and is effectively a variant of the E40D with electric assistance. Similar to the microhybrid WSDs on the 44. However, TFL still classify both of these types as hybrids, so have become preferable for Abellio and Stagecoach, as the smart hybrid is cheaper than the E40H ultracap.

For anyone who didn't know, CT Plus today actually sent three buses to West London for the Central Line Rail Replacement (B). Quite a surprise for it to travel that far!

Gosh the back of these things is so ugly.

It seems like that CT Plus has blinded 1223 for the 20. Spotted it leaving Walthamstow Central as I was waiting for a 215.

I'd be more surprised if CT Plus were able to stick to a double decker allocation! Next time HK are short of double deckers except one to pop over from AW will a single decker running on the 20 instead

2502: SN16OHR seems to be sticking on the 20. Hopefully Stagecoach E400s will return to T soon.

Looking on LVF it seems 10114 LX12DDA might possibly be making its way back to T. Unusual not to see the bus out on a weekday and was last used around 1pm yesterday.
On another note I wonder if we will see a increase in deckers on the D6 with the spare buses ex 388 (Not including the buses moving to the 20 of course)

Although I am sure they will loan vehicles in from HK when necessary, they have to get there first! In exceptional circumstances when there is no other vehicle available, using an E200 rather than cancelling the journey is the right thing to do.
