The musical chairs woith this route go on. Centre bus recently gave up thesunday service with University Bus taking it over. They have now at short notice given it up and will cease operating it from the end of August. No idea who will take it over at present nraly every local operator has had a go at it and given it up. With budgets tight it may be they will just cease the Sunday service or reduce it to two hourly

Why not just award the whole evening and sunday service to Sullivans Buses as they already run the monday to saturday evening service. I never get why they didnt award all of it to one company because then you end up having 3 companies run one route which seems complicated.

It does seem daft though to split route between companies. If Metroline cannot operate the entie service commercially then the whole route should go out to tender rather then the mess you currently end up wth. There can even be different fares and ticket validity to futher confuse it

If you think that is bad. I was watching a program called are we there yet on BBC1 in 2007. It was a four-part television documentary in which John Ware would travel up and down the country exploring the country's transport infrastructure.
In this one episode he reviewed a route in Manchester called the 42, which had 42 different operators! If you did not buy the correct ticket for the correct operator you could not board the Bus!

There are TWO routes numbered 42 and controlled by the GMPTE in Manchester. One runs from Stockport to Manchester, and is operated by Stagecoach Manchester. The other runs between East Didsbury and Manchester, and is jointly run by Finglands (a subsidiary of East Yorkshire Motor Services), Magicbus (a subsidiary of Stagecoach), and Stagecoach Manchester. The above information is taken from the website of the GMPTE (Manchesters equivalent of TfL). Seems your source may have been a large dose of 'poetic licence'!

I did say the program was aired in 2007 so a lot could have changed since then.

It will also replace the 302 service, It will still operate every hour but the former 302 service will be every two hour.

Uno were only awarded the Sunday contract temporarily, as Centrebus (just after they took over Trustybus) gave up the Sunday service at short notice. The new Sunday contract from 5th September will have alternate journeys extended all the way up to Welwyn Garden City, replacing Sunday-only 302 also operated by Centrebus. This means, as of September, the Mon-Sat daytime service will be operated by Metroline commercially between Waltham Cross and Cuffley Stn, with some journeys extended to Potters Bar. Sullivan Buses will operate the Mon-Sat evening service, alternating between Hammond Street and Potters Bar. The Sunday service will be operated by Centrebus, alternating between Hammond Street and Potters Bar, with alternate Potters Bar journeys extending to WGC. Just to make the service even more confusing...!! ;D
Also, the Sunday service is actually has a more simple and (in places) more frequent service from Waltham Cross-Potters Bar. The Mon-Fri service has a few gaps around midday, some as long as 1 and a half hours, whereas the evening and Sunday service has an hourly frequency throughout.
