Some of you may remember Imperial Buses withdrawing the H1 (Loughton-Harlow) in December 2009 (which ran hourly on Mon-Fri, and 4 return journeys on Saturdays). Well Essex CC kept the Saturday service and contracted it to Regal Busways. Now, unsurprisingly, the Saturday service is proposed to be withdrawn aswell. The main concern if it is withdrawn is that there will be no direct service between Loughton and Epping, the only alternative bus is Essex CC 541 operated by Arriva which operates between Loughton and Epping, via Abridge, Theydon Bois and Ivy Chimneys, extending to Harlow on evenings and Sundays. Although its a shame that there is no direct bus, I doubt a direct service will come back now, especially as Essex CC already fund the 541, and there is still a Loughton to Harlow route (the 555 which operates via Waltham Abbey). www.guardian-series.co.uk/news/efnews/8404218.LOUGHTON__H1_bus_service_to_be_scrapped_entirely/Also, might interest some of you to know that Imperial Buses started a new commercial service on 20th September. It operates hourly Mondays to Fridays between Blackmore and Warley via Ongar and Brentwood. In competition with Arriva's 501 between Ongar and Warley. This is interesting, as its Imperial's first commercial operation for a long while. The H1 was partly funded by Essex CC when they operated it, so that doesn't really count as a commercial service.

"We must stress that this proposal is currently under consultation, no decision has been taken and no withdrawal date has been set."
