The traffic commisioners have taken strong action against Veokia Cwmru
Adverse decisions made out under Section 17(3) (a), 17(3) (aa) and 17(3) (c) of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981.
Adverse decisions made out under Section 26(1) (a), 26(1) (b) and Section 26(1) (c) of the Transport Act 1985.
Your vehicle authorisation is curtailed from 396 to 277 (a reduction of 119) with immediate effect.
Your company will specify vehicles used on the licence within 28 days, to show the Office of the Traffic Commissioner in Leeds the list of the 304 vehicles from which 277 discs are to be used, and to have for inspection by VOSA proof as to which 277 vehicles are used at any one time.
A financial penalty under section 155 of the Transport Act 2000. The penalty will be £100 per disc issued (329 disc in possession). A total penalty of £32,900 to be paid to the Welsh Assembly within 28 days. Failure to pay goes against the company’s repute.
No new Bus Registrations services to be registered for a 3 month period starting from 7th December 2010 until 6th March 2011. The Traffic Commissioner is willing to allow minor non commercial variations to existing routes.
The repute of the Transport Managers called to the Public Inquiry is retained.
The following undertakings were given and were accepted by the Traffic Commissioner to be recorded on the company’s licence;
Maintenance systems, maintenance documentation and vehicle inspections will be audited by Freight Transport Association every 6 months. Audit reports will be prepared, acted upon and retained for at least 2 years. A copy of the report will be forwarded to the Traffic Area Office in Birmingham and to the local Senior Vehicle Examiner within 14 days of its receipt together with the Operator’s proposals for implementing its recommendations.
