Hi all Today Geoff Amos of Eydon (near Daventry) ceased trading. The company ran Route GA01: Banbury to Woodford Halse which connected to the GA02: Woodford Halse to Ruby via Daventry, and the GA08: Eydon to Banbury (school days only). All Routes are taken over by Stagecoach with effect from tomorrow and will be split between Banbury and Rugby Depots, still numbered as GA01 and GA02 which i suppose is being done cause customers know them as that. Timetables are already on the site, and are the same as the Geoff Amos ones, and the fares are staying the same. Shame to see another independent go yet again probably rising fuel costs and not enough money paid for OAP bus passes. Geoff Amos were a good company to, friendly drivers, nice and clean buses, and if buses were late they would swap a bus just before the Woodford Halse double run to get the bus back on time. A link to what is happening is here: www.daventryexpress.co.uk/news/local/confusion_after_buses_stop_running_1_2937849 and here: www.stagecoachbus.com/serviceupdatedetails.aspx?Id=3263Also Hookways of Devon have ceased trading. They had quite a big operation, and only recently started to operate some routes on behalf of National Express, which they took over from First D&C, so has given NX some headache.
