Stayed at my mums over the weekend, she lives in a lovely village called milford on sea in hampshire. We went into lymington on saturday, about 5 miles away and got the bus. 1 bus per hour serves my mums village, I was allowed to use my staff pass Double deck, single door bus, no assault screen and vinyl seats upstairs. Bus stops every half a mile instead of every 100 yds!! The oaps have to touch in thier pass and get given a printed ticket, which, does slow down the boarding a bit. It was a nice experience, everyone well behaved, no smelly passengers and none of the teenagers were playing music on thier phones!! I shall be looking into moving down there for sure!! All the driver I saw were wearing full uniform and the 2 drivers I spoke to were very polite and friendly. 10/10 dorset and wilts bus company.

Ive always had a good experience of Wilts & Dorset, one driver which i did mention on here on Route 50 from Swanage to Bournemouth was a great laugh, another driver i had on the 183/4 from Salisbury to Weymouth (route split at Blandford due to length, but bus does both parts) was as good. Overall my expericence is Go Ahead companies are good due, which i suspect is down to the nature of the Go Ahead set up where local management (abit in this case Go South Coast) are left to do their own things as they know more then say head office in London.

This thread is nostalgic for me as I lived in New Milton whilst growing up. Lymington bus station / garage would be a good starting point Things might have changed as Go-Ahead now own it, the website is here, especially as website gives contact address in Newport (might be shared with Southern vectis) www.wdbus.co.uk/about-us/Looks like the old routes Lymington-New Milton-Christchurch are now X1 and X2, used to be 121,122,123,124 route maps here (there are others for Bournemouth area, Salisbury area, and longer distance) www.wdbus.co.uk/site/uploads/publications/133.pdfThe fleet is mixed, think there is some open toppers in Swanage and New Forest tour routes
