I had WVL2 today - a 57 plate B9TL with the ZF Ecolife box. Its performance is phenomenal! It upshifts at a minimum of 1600rpm or so and revs up to 1900rpm when floored. The result is superbly responsive acceleration, equivalent to the better of the TopoDynised E400s. It's a small wonder that bus is always in demand.
Sisters WVL3 and 4 are healthy and nippy, but with standard B9 eco transmission settings.

Had a few buses this week - ELV5, DS55/57/58 (10 plates), DS60 (59 plate) and TPL926. ELV5 is a quality motor - held its own well on the dead run to South Mimms. Clean fuel pump = responsive acceleration. These ELVs don't seem to be that popular, but they're fantastic in my opinion. ELV7 and 8 are just as good, whereas ELV9 and 10 have had their kickdown disabled. They aren't half thirsty though All of the DS class (Scania N230UDs) has been reprogrammed to respond instantly to the throttle pedal and rev up to 2000rpms. I favour the 10 plates, as they have short gear ratios which are ideal for town driving, similar to the 6 speed B7TLs. The 59 plates have long gears, similar to the Euro 3 Scania N94UDs. As well as performing brilliantly, the DS' have a decent ride quality up front - they feel much smoother than a Trident for instance. TPL926 - seems to have a following but personally not my favourite bus! It has been a nice week - resting tomorrow but will hopefully get out again another time!

TPL926 does have the novlety of being the last Plaxton President bodied Tridents in London, however being a Trident they do overev a lot, which makes them sound beasty, but doesn't translate into actual power.

With the 299 transferring to Sullivan Buses in a few weeks, would it be possible to negotiate the 389/399 to make the same operator change earlier than contract start (similiar to the 258)? The 389/399 have a PVR of 0 as they will be crosslinked with the 299 like with Go Ahead now. The SENs currently used will be needed for the 386 soon and can't stay at NP until the end of the 389/399's contract - shorter SENs from the W4 could be used or another vehicle will have to be transferred in.

Sullivan buses should try take the 107, sound like a good combination The 107 is not up for tender soon, but they could bid for the 125, 192, 234, 240, 292 or 317. Could Sullivan operate a TFL route from its Thorpe Park garage, such as one of the routes in Staines?

I haven't seen it so I'm unsure as to capacity but it is possible that its not big enough for many routes. If I recall correctly, Thorpe park shuttles are only currently run from there. It's a shame Sullivan's haven't won any of the recent Edgware/Harrow tenders although I'm sure they would have bidded. I hope they do make some future gains, they run their current routes well so it would be nice to see them take on a bigger challenge.

The buses are parked in a pound with other Thorpe Park vehicles, so correct not a garage as such - more use Thorpe Park facilities as an operating base.

Or am I being naive and the moquette is not ADL exclusive and just happened to be the stock moquette of the E400 City?

So it could be used on any bus built for a London operator.
