What financial incentive is there for TfL to do this though? Thats a good point. Outside London, WiFi is used to woo passengers away from other transport modes such as trains who usually charge to use WiFi. The good thing about it for companies is, if needs be, it can be equipped to any bus regardless of it's age or type. The Green Bus in West Midlands has equipped it's entire fleet with WiFi - a fleet which includes MCW Metrobus & Volvo Citybus (yes they even have it and are beyond 20 years old), as well as more modern vehicles such as Optare Spectras.

Don't think wi-fi would suit buses as much. Its not like the working people would actually get out their Mac Books or Dell Laptops and start checking their e-mails while on a bus and certainly not in an urban area. It would just make them an easy target for a bus robbery. I actually would use wifi for my phone ... save having to use my data allowance. Could update my apps Currently I only update my google play apps when at home, to save on my 1gb of data as I wasn't lucky enough when I upgraded last year to get a bt openzone wi fi option but now when i upgraded my GFs line last week vodafone offered her 2gb bt-openzone wi fi ontop of 1gb of data and beats audio headsets with her htc one s. It would be nice to have wi fi for when your going on long journeys especially.
