It may interest members to know that I have acquired former Harris Bus DAF Palatine 2, P335ROO (6542FN) from Sanders Coaches of Holt, Norfolk.
I don't actually take delivery till Monday on account that the angle drive is broken, so I'm having to remove it under tow.
Their other former Harris DAF, M649RCP (6546FN), has already been heavily stripped internally (engine blew up) but I have the angle drive off her and that will be used to make 335 better. They will be using 649 as a store for a while yet and so I have her as a source of spares.
The single door conversion looks to be a rather good job, so pending a much closer inspection on Monday its likely that I'll be keeping her single doored. Now as stated above, 649 is effectively scrapped.....of the other original single door Harris DAF's P317KTW is/was heavily converted into a "youth bus" for Stockton Council and I've been told by the Leeds based owners of P318KTW that it is not for sale and I won't be told if & when it ever is.....
So on the basis of the above I'm considering using some 'artistic licence' and painting her into Harris Bus's Lakeside Link livery. All will be revealed as and when she's ready.......
I do have first refusal pending on another ex Harris two door DAF though, so that option may exist in the future.

Will you be doing a blog like you did with DW317? Well.... I've been trying to decide whether to give its own website or whether to create a joint one for both vehicles......and if I do a joint one, what to call it....

Thats a good idea, and if you do acquire a DAF, then it could be your very own heritage vehicle site. I never liked them Pyoneers due to the centre staircase but a DAF Palatine - I can't dislike that ;D

Indeed, though it doesn't look so bad in the flesh.
The conversion really is a top notch job (the paperwork in my hands suggests it was done by Salvador Caetano UK), and with all the gubbins removed it is beyond my means at the moment to re-convert it back.
Going with the same livery as applied to Harris's original single doored DAF's means applying black to all the window surrounds, so I'm hoping that will make the difference less obvious....
