Hi all Within the past week, it hasnt been good for companies going bust. With RH Transport, one other and now Countryliner going under. It was the same issue as Countryliner had last year, issues with HMRC however this time the wind up order was successful. At the moment most services in Surrey are running apart from the 10 which is being run by Abellio and the 11 being run by Stagecoach. The other countryliner routes are running on a limited basis. In Sussex, Countryliner are not running at all with Stagecoach running most services with reserve buses being drafted into their Eastbourne and Hastings depots. Petersfeild routes are running as normal as they are run on a different licence to the Surrey and Sussex routes. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-19880942

I very occasionally use Countryliner in Burgess Hill but there is no news as to whether the town routes are running. Traveline is saying the 31 is running but the 40 is not. No word about the 34 and 35 which is what I use. I know school transport has to be prioritised by Councils but there is a distinct lack of information on council websites apart from East Sussex who seem to be on the ball. Nothing from Surrey, Kent or West Sussex councils. I'd hate to be someone who actually relied on these services day in, day out.

It's no surprise that Countryliner have finally folded. I've heard so many stories about them so I've no sympathy to them - only to the passengers who use their routes who have now all been messed about with. Also, well done to Abellio & Stagecoach for stepping in and taking on some routes.
However, I'm sad to hear that RH Transport has folded, I've always wanted to go up that way and try them out.

Quality Line have taken on the 479 (Epsom to Guildford) using MCL1, DPS600, DPS539 and anything else spares which has included SD48 The RATP tie-up has been busy as the DPS were part of London United's fleet. A friend of mine says initially it is just a short term hire. I'm guessing that when the 8 new Solo SRs arrive QL will have its own spare buses, but not sure they will be big enough for a commercial service where passengers expect seats even in peak hours.

QL have now withdrawn their allocation on the 479 with Sunray Travel carrying on with ex Countryliner Buses, Drivers and Timetable. This is because the Sunray registration was accepted with the VOSA but not QLs.
