The Bugatti Veyron if the DWs, DW89, flexes it's muscles on route 137- 37 mph up the Cedars Road hill.

VLA157 currently being mega thrashed along Streatham (route 50). Never heard a BT7L bus sound quite like this before!
I should point out that the bus is 12 minutes late.

Hmm... DE30 (YX09 HKZ) on the 110. Not much rattling, smooth driver and sounded extremely healthy

To bring back an old thread with new life I did a ride of some fast routes today in the Bromley and Bexleyheath areas: 6459 on the 160 6213 on the 492 19744 on the 96 17967 on the 269 23110 on the 227 All of them were getting good speed, though my particularly favourite had to be the DAF on the 492 which sounded absolutely fantastic and was going brilliantly along the dual carriageway sections. Seems the maintenance by DT isn't bad on *all* of their buses I had one of my best bus rides ever on one of the 492's Pulsar Geminis, we must have been doing over 50 mph! Can't remember which one, probably 6213. But all Pulsar Gemini's are excellent buses; comfortable and immensely powerful. The only ones I'm not a fan of are BN's DW6* and DW8* batch, almost all are quite sluggish, if not restricted. (DW89 being an exception, that's one of my favourites)

I too like all Pulsar Gemini's as well. The best ones are DW94-102 which were originally ordered for the 403 & which have suped up acceleration. The 492's & the 258's Pulsar Gemini's are fast as well.

VLA9 on the 133 - the driver gave it a good thrashing, as it went non-stop from Streatham Hill Station to Brixton Station, during the morning peak. Almost too fast, people standing up were getting flung around. And it sounded amazing too, like the old AVLs.

Just had an amazing ride on DW61 on route 50. We reached 43 mph along Streatham Common, then overtook a 109 (VLA156) in spectacular fashion!

DW50 on route 137 got a good thrashing and bashing. The thrashing being that we hit 38 mph along Clapham South. The bashing was that we clipped the kerb quite badly at Knightsbridge. I decided to get the 109 on my way home instead of the 50. Good choice that, DLA315 hit a monstrous 47 MPH as we thundered though Streatham and Norbury (non-stop from Streatham Hill Station to Galpins Road). Definitely my new favourite Euro 2 DLA. The banner at the top of the page says: "Please think about what you post" We recently had Viska reporting a 159 doing something similar in Kennington Road. It wouldn't take much for someone in authority to work out who was driving DLA315 at that spot. I've said before, a car is bad enough doing this speed, but a 10 ton bus??!!

Was on 9448 today on the 35, bus restriction appears to have been reduced as it's very fast... even during the brief time the driver wasn't using the kickdown (very quick gear changes without the kickdown....esp 2nd to 3rd). The only restriction seems to be a slight delay in the pullaway, which is hardly noticeable.
It also goes over 30 miles an hour as she was still accelerating when in 5th gear along Long Road, Clapham. Not sure whether its speed restricted to 40mph, which I assume it may be.

Drivers should be driving as if their boss is on board anyway. What with all the black boxes, telematics and CCTV on board these, wayward driving is a risk take.
