E266 is the 9766 of NX - supremely nimble!
E273 is also a bit of a beast - heard flying along Loampit Vale in the small hours sounding lovely. Engine firing on all cylinders and the revs jumping slightly prior to gear change.
9555 of WL has been re-TopoDynised to allow it to rev to 2000rpm. It was always very nippy but without that extra oomph thanks to the 1700rpm limit. Now it's even better!

Short clip of E266, which sounds suspiciously like a bus that has spent the night shift being thrashed!

Short clip of E266, which sounds suspiciously like a bus that has spent the night shift being thrashed! Over many moons I have noticed a somewhat pattern regarding unclapped buses in that many I remember seem to end with '....66; LDP66 - then the nippiest on the 345 when New Cross based as she had quite a good bit of torque DRL66 - the fastest Dart from the batch ordered for the 295, bearing in mind the breed were generally fast but this one had that bit more kick.... plus for some reason when revved in neutral the maximum engine rev was set a lot higher than on other buses 9766 - commented over the years as one of the best 51 reg Tridents at BC, ordered for the 157

VLA169 is certainly a nice fast bus in good condition, shame tomorrow is probably its last day

VLA137 has a excellent kickdown with the driver taking full advantage on the 128 earlier today and also love the "oomph" noise that VLA129-VLA143 batch make every time there is a kickdown.

Is it me or do the early enviro's 59reg to 60reg don't accelerate quite as quick as the facelift versions. Went on T134 which was very very quick bus, with the Topodyn system but the facelifts I went on, E269 felt it had more to offer from its engine?

The 59 reg T’s were quick when on the 133, not sure how they are now though.

Maybe - several of the 09 plates at QB now have Topodyn, but rather watered down - they only hit 2000rpm on an incline and around 1800 on the flat, so not a patch on those 12/62 plates at NX. I guess maintenance plays a part - it seems to be difficult for some garages to keep them out of derate mode.

I do remember getting spirited rides around Kennington on the T's, sadly the journey times has been extended and 133s are generally driven rather slow to keep to those excessive running times

Ive noticed that when the T's were upgraded to Euro 6 emission status, they restrictions were completely flushed out the systems, and they don't feel as nippy as the facelifts, maybe the engine setup is different from the two generations

WVL314 was a rocket yesterday on a light run from MG to Belvedere. I was in a car, struggling to keep up with it on Eastern Way!
