Special mentioned for DS62 of Sullivan Buses, fastest Scania I have ever driven and easily one of the best deckers in London atm. It is just as quick, if not faster in pullaway as the notorious E42 which is the fastest E400 at Sullivans. Quite impressive how these Scanias perform free from any restrictions and engine issues. I believe they were all re-mapped by Sullivan Buses which is why they perform so well. A good call as the topography of their patch is certainly more challenging than plodding up an east London high street at 25mph.

Redroutemaster's new ex-Stagecoach Darts were out on rail replacement service. Wow! I've never been on Darts that accelerate so fast even more so than the old H-reg DR-class ones (and they were quick). Almost felt like they had uprated engines or a different ratio rear end. Maybe that is how they are supposed to behave and it is just that I am accustomed to the restricted London ones.

Even though a lot of people complain about the 13 reg TEHs, TEH1455 was amazing on the 210 yesterday - quick acceleration and pretty fast bus. DE1019/1025 were also pretty fast buses when I used them on the 324 recently. VW1766 was also a rapid bus on the 83 yesterday - very nice batch overall, especially with their comfortable Lazzerini Practico seats

TE981, deserves an special mention. On 240, made mincemeat of the hills and open roads with kickdowns/downshifts when driver could.
Also got the same bus on 107, and it was like an rocket, one of fastest rides I got from recent memory when out in Elstree and Barnet parts.

A good bus from Metroline is VWH2300 (LK17DFY), when I got on it this week it was going nearly 50mph and it hit 30mph in no time. This bus is only good when you get a fast bus driver because when it has a slow bus driver it is still good but it cannot reach it's full potential.

Had the time of my life last night riding my stalker bus VWH1419. Normally an mid-weight machine, however driver was in no mood to mess about and was very thrashy (roared several times) with extremely fast acceleration and speed. There is also VWH1417, which I quite often see and hear very rapidly roaring down my area at night, in comparison to other buses in this batch (does have an turbo leak mind ). This is an great batch so something I don't say lightly. For hybrids they do perform really well and the new hybrid fixes/batteries really do pack an punch.

E205 on the 37 the other day had a brilliant turn of speed once past the usual Euro V Enviro 400 acceleration, driver definitely was enjoying himself when not stuck behind cyclists or other road users

A Metroline B9TL on the 297 said to be in 'super power mode'. May be my favourite London example now based on her performance from 2nd gear onwards. youtu.be/jj5vIxxVJxw

Reading this thread is so nostalgic. So many great buses which are long gone from TfL service now unfortunately 🙁
