In contrast anywhere south of West Croydon is quite nice places probably with the exception of New Addington. New Addington has to be one of the most depressing places in the South of England. The dumping ground for all of Croydon's dross which is saying something ;D I drove through it once on the way back from lovely Westerham, and have never felt so depressed- and it goes on for ages. I now take the back lanes through to the lovely West Wickham instead now- a billion times nicer! I enjoy one bit of New Addington - passing the last stop in New Addington on the 464 towards Biggin Hill as you enter the country lane that is Sheepbarn Lane and Salt Box Hill ;D

In April, I had a assignment based on migration in London, using three areas as case studies - Brick Lane, Camden Town and Brixton. For the Brixton one, me and three mates done an independant trip walking from Brixton station and ending up somewhere near Dulwich Hill. I remember how interesting that walk was, and discovering Brixton has some quite nice houses along Loughborough Road! As your a local, I thought I'd ask you what this road - goo.gl/maps/LFllX is like... We walked down from the Town hall and through that estate at the end and got quite a bad vibe from it! Apart from that area, the only other area that I thought were a bit dodgy was the Somerleyton Estate which we walked past. There was a new-looking sports academy at the bottom of the estate on Loughborough Rd which was busy which I thought was good as it gets kids of the streets The picture I've attached is of the small estate on Rushcroft Road... Doesn't really give it justice, had bikes hanging of the railings on 1st floor flats!!! Ahh, Rushcroft Road, before it was turned into a no through road, it was full of drunks and druggies as well as hookers. I think the hooker problem moved on when it was cut off at the Town Hall end but with Coldharbour Lane being a hot spot for drinkers at night, it's probably still in the same state. I'm glad you walked around Somerleyton and not through it - another rough area. Loughborough Road houses the notorious Myatts Field estate and a newagents which is surrounded with bulletproof glass. That picture you posted up is neighbouring Ingleton Street, apparently a lot of people have been mugged there when using it as a short cut. Whats the estate on mostyn road next to mostyn gardens? I assume thats the myatt fields estate as well? Well I used to visit an friend of mine who lived there. Didn't really feel threatened when I visited him although I did see a few druggies now and then. One time he was waiting with me for the P5 to brixton and we was playing football. Unfortunately we kicked the ball over some school so we went and climbed over to get it. 5 minutes later a man came from nowhere shouting there they are and then at least 20 policeman (some with dogs) all came rushing from all over and arrested us. We did explain to them why we were there and they did let us off after a few questions in the police car but I was quite shocked at the ordeal. I can understand it now considering the area. Some good memories though thats for sure ;D I been into some newsagent with some kind of barricade seprating the staff from us customers, somewhere near loughborough station. Don't know why but it seemed strange to see that. Some of my family still live in one of the estates in loughborough road. Only visited them once and now just drifted apart although I did still see them when they boarded my bus while I was on the route 3

Down the hill is crazy I find it amazing the way it goes from shi*ty New Addington to beautiful countryside in the blink of an eye That field at the top of Salt Box Hill is great for sledging when it snows

Have to admit, new addington doesn't look like a pleasant area to live in New Addington: the kind of place where a 12 year old girl has a 46 year old grandmother (you do the maths!) who has a boyfriend who was previously her daughter's boyfriend. A boyfriend who's a drug dealer, paedophile and child-murderer. Says it all about New Addington really

Since the police don't do anything, its time that the army should be deployed in order to serve and protect the people. I dont mind seeing tanks and Army trucks going past. It just makes me feel more safer.

When I started at Bromley I was warned that I would likely encounter trouble at New Addington but I never once had a problem. Sure it looks like a depressing place to live but I never had a problem or felt threatened driving through the place. Of course, there have been problems in this time - one of our buses had all the windows put through when it got left up there during heavy snowfall - but it never happened to me. Just lucky I guess!
Doesn't matter now though since it's been months since I've done a 314 and it'll probably be months until I do another one!

Yes, petty crime will probably be lower, but you will have your rights severely curtailed- lets just hope you wouldn't be an ethnic minority, female, homosexual, or have a different political opionion in that situation..... The army is not needed on the streets in this country- except as Vjaska says in the event of a riot. What would reduce petty crime however, is more police on the streets- not just speeding past every few hours in a Vauxhall Astra. And when I say police, I mean actual police officers, not the pathetic excuse that is Community Support Officers.

And when I say police, I mean actual police officers, not the pathetic excuse that is Community Support Officers. Well since the police is corrupt because they have their own problems going on internally. Here is a list of them with criminal convictions. info.fmotl.com/PoliceList.pdfThe police have become all political now. They have been controlled by the corruption named Common Purpose. I aware not many people know about the problems behind this. www.cpexposed.com/about-common-purposeI have nothing against the normal police officers, But the corruption needs to be sorted out. There are police officers that have second jobs as well. uk.news.yahoo.com/ten-percent-uk-police-officers-second-job-061814294.htmlThere have been situations where the troops need to get depolyed in order to keep the peace. But with too much problems going on including in the rough suburbs i think its needed. Today i wished theres a bill of responsibilities so people can be save for themselves and others. They have done it in America as well. www.infowars.com/military-police-used-for-crowd-control-in-south-carolina/Theres 2 things. Should we take care of ourselves or rely on the police for protection?
