They have a habit of crossing in front off moving buses, a prime example is oxford circus / oxford street!

According to the Evening Standard, they looked the wrong way when crossing the road. Obviously used to traffic being on the other side of the road. Sad story

Yes its very sad. Im keep thinking of the siblings who was with her when this happened.
Its really tough to drive a bus in central london at times. I can think of countless near misses I suffered up there as well as the many accidents I observed. One that sticks out for me is when I nearly ran someone over in haymarket. Lots of tourists were crossing at the lights but stopped when they saw me approaching (the lights was green for me). As I got close, a man appeared from the group looking completely the other way. There was no way I could stop in time so in that split second, I hoped that I would hit him by my offside mirror instead of the front of the bus. Fortunately I missed but it was so close when I looked at my mirror afterwards I could see him having a fright and himself throwing all his bits of paper in the air.
I mention this as I believe my incident is similar to happened here. Of course with this incident it was actually a collision

In regards to the evening standard I actually do find it hard to believe it was confusion of vehicles driving on a certain side of the road as surely they must have seen what side the traffic is travelling on.
