Looks like route x1 couldn't compete with first's route 100, and will be withdrawn in April www.ensignbus.com/#!service-news/cp2i

It could possibly be down to the roadworks on the A13 at Corringham. They are causing a huge amount of tailbacks and may well be hitting the route hard for time, meaning it might be taking longer than the 100. I wouldn't be shocked to see Ensign bring it back once all the upgrade work along the route has finished. Certainly seemed to have good loadings when I saw it at either end.

John is right it is reported elsewhere the reason the route is being withdrawn is because traffic on the A13 is making it too difficult to run. LOTS is the best source for info ;D

It's certainly not loadings that are the problem, they seem fine. Obviously the roadworks are just meaning that people are being turned off using it. Plenty of "base" customers, just not many more jumping on it. Don't be too shocked if Ensign try another way into Basildon as there are very few links from this side other than c2c services and First routes, of which I will never use myself.

I certain would chose EnsignBus over First Essex any day. They seem to run most of there buses onto time when ever I use there services when I'm down in Grays or Lakeside. Plus there more frequent in Grays then they are than First.
