Would a one-way system in Shepherd's Bush aid traffic flow?

Uxbridge Road between Askew Road and Shepherd's Bush Green becomes one way TOWARDS Shepherd's Bush Green.
The traffic lights/bollards opposite Wood Lane are set back to allow the full width of Uxbridge Road to become available for oncoming traffic.
The access lane into Uxbridge Road from Shepherd's Bush Green is blocked off - primarily to prevent the now illegal left turn into Uxbridge Road, but also to allow a double line of waiting vehicles intending to head straight across into Wood Lane.

Goldhawk Road between Askew Road and Shepherd's Bush Green becomes one way TOWARDS Askew Road with a short contra flow bus lane between the road leading from the bus garage and Shepherd's Bush Green.

Askew Road - parking banned except for genuine deliveries.

Bus diversions.
Routes 207,260 and 607 heading away from White City Bus Station will now proceed down Goldhawk Road from Shepherd's Bush Green, turning right into Askew Road and taking Askew Road down to Uxbridge Road to rejoin existing line of route. No change to existing route for 207, 260 and 607 buses heading towards White City Bus Station.
Route 283 heading towards East Acton will turn left from Hammersmith Road into Goldhawk Road, proceed down to and along Askew Road to turn right into Uxbridge Road to rejoin its existing line of route.
Route 228 heading towards Central Middlesex Hospital will no longer be permitted to turn onto Uxbridge Road EXCEPT to head across to Coningham Road which it will follow down to Goldhawk Road where it will turn right to follow the 260's line of route
Route 237 heading towards White City Bus Station will be required to make a left turn at Askew Road and proceed down to Uxbridge Road to follow the 207's line of route to White City Bus Station. The contra flow bus lane in Goldhawk Road serves only buses coming out of the garage towards Shepherd's Bush Green.

That will be a long walk if you want the north end of Conningham or Godolphin roads, if your bus now goes along the Goldhawk Road.
I always though one way to improve the traffic flow would have been to take part of the west side of the green, make that two way for traffic from White City heading towards Hammersmith, andit's now going to be superfluous, but if they had re-instated the right turn from Goldhawk Road into Shepherds Bush Road. (Always remember the RTWs on the 11 doing that when I visited my Granny in Lime Grove)

I think your proposal has no merit. Mayoral policy is to remove gyratories yet you are proposing to create an enormous one if I have understood your idea correctly.

You will make access to / from the inner stretches of Goldhawk Rd and Uxbridge Road needlessly complicated or borderline impossible. You will also deprive people of easy access by bus. Askew Road is far too far out to possibly justify this scheme as the time penalties for motorists, bus users and commercial businesses will be huge. Shepherds Bush / White City is busy - always has been and always will be but your scheme just turns Askew Road into an enormous fume belching traffic jam to no one's benefit. If I was travelling along the 237 bus route and wanted a stop just before Goldhawk Rd station your proposal would send me via Askew Road, Uxbridge Road, Shepherds Bush Green, the Holland Av roundabout, Shepherds Bush Green and then back along Goldhawk Road. Well duh! That does a great deal for fuel consumption and traffic flow around Shepherds Bush Green. Bus passengers would need to change bus to go back the way they came.

I can't actually see what *problem* you think you are solving with your proposal.

All depends on the one way system IMO. For example, when Brixton Hill in Brixton town centre became two way, it reduced the amount of traffic that used Effra Road & the two left hand lanes (now reduced to one lane as a result of the change) on St. Matthews Road but it hasn't solved traffic in the right hand lanes of St. Matthews Road and as result of Brixton Hill becoming two way, it reduces the amount of lanes going into Brixton.

If, for example, Wandsworth gyratory became part two way (Wandsworth High Street in particular), traffic towards Putney will have less lanes - the heavy traffic goes in this direction whereas traffic is far lighter in the opposite direction.

The current system is fine as it is. The real worry is the tight spots of the Uxbridge Road where traffic is forced onto two lanes (Acton, Southall)

Askew Road is too far, as noted. Also, the current system is fine, just reintroducing the right turn from Goldhawk-Shepherd's Bush Road and possibly Wood Ln-Uxbridge Rd? That might reduce the amount of traffic on the three sides of Shepherd's Bush Green (not so much the little fourth side of that bus U-turn lane though).
