While browsing my YouTube feed I saw this video hit my eye. The Chinese Demostrator bus that seem to be in service with MTA. Anyone got any idea how long these will pop onto the 507s and 521s?

Quite interesting that the MTA is following the footsteps of TFL. But I know they are withdrawing their existing hybrid bus for a new diesel bus. America have a wide range of electric buses as they manufacture themselves. Jay Leno reviews the 2 Electric buses on his YouTube series and yes he gets to test drive them. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JpMTWdPZ6cwww.youtube.com/watch?v=MVXWGBgYj3M

No idea about London's BYD buses as it can take ages for some new things to get into service. In theory it is supposed to be September but there isn't much time left for that.
You have to give the Chinese some credit - they've got those BYD buses in service in several places such as NYC, Hong Kong, the Netherlands and possibly some I don't know about. They're obviously pushing hard in order to win some big orders.

But knowing America I don't think they'd be buying buses outside of North America as most of their buses are either MCI which is coaches and Orions and NovaBuses. If this is a successful trail I believe this would be the first manufacture bus that has been brought out of North America. Despite, having a few Enviro 500s in New York and Canada for Tourism and Public Service.

Go Ahead could be having problems certifying the BYD buses because I heard form the bloke who runs go coach in the Sevenoaks area that big bus had loads of problems getting their Chinese deckers certified for use. Although they are 'brand new' Chinese licensing standards are different from English standards.
