If that happens it would make SF the very first fully LT garage. I think it was already fully LT by the end of 2015 before route 67 returned there. 253 didn't become LT allocated until November 2016.

67 seems the most logical once its cut and roughly matches the amount of spare buses available. I think the truncated 67 would be a waste of LTs but oh well

With speculation on the reallocation of LTs following central London changes, there are a lot more surplus LTs in the fleet than perhaps expected, with many vehicles used as surplus spares at various garages. The more recent route conversions have had the same number of spares as a conventional route, proving that this is adequate.
Approximate requirements at each operator:
Abellio 21 LTs for route 3 19 LTs for route 24 24 LTs for route 27 26 LTs for route 68 36? LTs for route 159 (pending cut back to Oxford Circus) 19 LTs for route 267
Arriva 59 LTs for route 38 28 LTs for route 59 38 LTs for route 73 34 LTs for route 137 42 LTs for route 149 30 LTs for route 253 37 LTs for route 254
Go Ahead 24 LTs for route 11 27 LTs for route 12 26 LTs for route 15 30 LTs for route 21 28 LTs for route 76 24 LTs for route 87 40 LTs for route 453 19 LTs for route EL1 17 LTs for route EL2 16 LTs for route EL3
Metroline 24 LTs for route 16 23 LTs for route 91 23 LTs for route 168 20 LTs for route 189 33 LTs for route 390
RATP 20 LTs for route 9 28 LTs for route 148 18 LTs for route 211
Stagecoach 31 LTs for route 8 41? LTs for route 55 (following Walthamstow extension)
If routes 176 and 415 fully convert to LTs, and the shortened route 67 converts (as has been suggested will happen), this would still leave approximately 25 LTs, so could potentially convert one more route (the 259 could be a good fit). There may also be further frequency cuts etc planned to release further LTs.

I think the truncated 67 would be a waste of LTs but oh well I know that routes 267 & EL1/2/3 have LTs, but they still seem more logical for central London routes. It is therefore ironic that route 67 is only destined to get them after losing its central London section.

I predict that a Central London route or two loses its Routemasters and they get transferred to the 18 and 207.

I predict that a Central London route or two loses its Routemasters and they get transferred to the 18 and 207. It seems crazy routes like the 18, 29, and 207 didn’t receive LTs. I know many users of that route will crucify me for saying this but regardless of whether you like LTs or not I’m sure you can agree those routes really would benefit from open boarding. I use the 207 regularly and I think open boarding would really help to cut long dwell times at stops. When LTs become conventional buses it won’t matter of course

I also think that the 139 should get LTs. That would have made sense when it was extended up to Golders back in 2017, but now as one few surviving routes going right through the West End, I would argue it should get electric buses.
