I didn't go to it, although it appears that it was a decent display. However I really think it was a shame there were no early low floor buses, whether Stagecoach TA1 or a Dennis Dart of some sort, given how major a change that was in the bus industry. Not to mention the lack of bendy bus, which, if being cynical, would appear to be an attempt to hide less successful things over the years There were minor errors in detail too from the photos I've seen; what should have been an E400H turned up as standard diesel TE920, while the Gemini 3 display had WHV1 instead! I didn't pick it up at the time but apparently an Optare City Pacer was also due to be displayed but wasn't there. A slight shame as I liked those and can remember my first ride on one on the C1 route when it started.

They could have spent the money on LED blind tech instead... I found a link www.flickr.com/photos/citytransportinfo/14486978334/in/set-72157645321977295City Transport Info's pics, not mine... At least they had the weather for it

In some senses, TfL are making great leaps forward, but in most, quite a few steps backwards... Don't...you might get people saying your comment is pointless - that's what I got just because I said the parade was a joke.

And that the E200H was actually an E20D from the 'other' FW garage, would've liked HDE5 there! I do think however the map screens (a la CrystalEyes- anyone remember that) is a good idea, as is the 'interactive seat map', saves you from going upstairs only to find nowhere to sit. I really doubt a bendy would've been there though, and it does feel that the 1990s and early 2000s were not represented there. It's also a real shame that an LLW hasn't been preserved, that would've been very nice to have had one there, given that it was the bus that (in London at least) started the low-floor revolution. Still nice to be able to sit in and explore the buses, despite the E400 being from Helloway, but overall was good day out in my view.

I have to agree about seeing a LLW preserved, I think a few of the Uxbridge Buses batch LLW11-24 are still in service with First, I dunno whether any of the London United or Metroline examples are still with us though. I made it up to Regent St for the final knockings (can never get out of work on time when I need to!), nice to jump back in the cab of a Metrobus again (last time was wayyy back in 1998!) The Abellio crew who came with 8813 were really friendly, I took their pictures for them in front of the vehicle who then snapped me sitting in the Cab. I do think that there should also of been a Leyland National, a Bendy and a Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Dart on show as well, all of which have had a major say in the London bus scene over the years. On the front of the handout that they were giving out, I noticed that the 1989 is a Mercesdes Benz 811D, It would of been good to of seen MA1, F601XMS preserved in time for this, that is if it's still parked up at AS.

I know its been mentioned before, but DLA1 would have been nice, and a Leyland National II (like the ones from the 607, not the Dart-engined examples that were on the H37)... The first Bendy ever trialled on the 207 (Y151ROT I think, a Volvo) would have been good, or any bendy, but I guess they were pressed for space... Perhaps that's why none of the Wright-bodied Renaults from the E8 were there, or the Flipdot-blinded Renaults from the 169 were missing

It took people's minds off England's pointless 8 day campaign in Brazil, I guess... oh no, we drew, gaining 1 point... To Joe Public, he just wants his bus to get him to work / shopping or wherever they need to go... there need to be more events to make it get in the mind of those who aren't enthusuiasts. Like England revelling in the glory of '66 every 4 years, TfL is stuck in the past when it comes to some things. Descriptions on blinds are one such example, LED's (like Lothian's) would help... vjaska, I didn't see the parade to be able too see what a joke / not a joke it was
