I am not cross, i just think the idea is stupid to extend the 263 to Highbury & Islington. I am very calm and happy.

TfL are now consulting on the 263 change. It explains the reasoning for the extension - to deal with rising demand for interchange to / from rail services at Highbury.

I noticed bus stops in the area started placing information of this over the past few days.. I would have preferred the 263 being extended to somewhere like Dalston Junction rather than Highbury Barn/Hill, as it would've help with my links to East London. As someone who's local with the area, I'm not considering on using it on this possible extension.. Perhaps have the 277 extend to Nag's Head in place of the 263 since 277's struggle with the limited space at the Highbury stand. Although, It states to help the demand of Highbury & Islington, perhaps passengers should use the upper decks more, to often the downstairs are crowded while I have like 5 people upstairs.

I could understand this extension if it were used to allow the 393 to be rerouted between Highbury New Park and Holloway Road. Extend the 263 as per the proposal but then reroute the 393 via Highbury Grove, Leigh Road, Highbury Hill, Martineau Road and Drayton Park. Completely fine for getting a bus down - I took a DW down along there more than once!

I agree in regards to Route 277 extending to Holloway Nag's Head! It would provide a connection to the East End and as you mentioned relieve stand space at Highbury.

Moz A nice idea but would I suspect it would fall foul of the old "broken links" and "broken journeys" issue *if* a lot of the 393's traffic is to and from Highbury Station. I don't use the 393 enough to know but I'd guess there must be a fair amount of interchange at Highbury to rail or other bus services. I think the "broken links" issue is why so few changes are coming through nowadays because there is no money to fund alternative service provision. TfL seem to be concentrating on ideas which extend existing routes where there is a benefit in so doing and where frequencies are not too high - hence the 136, 263 and S1 ideas rather than anything more radical. The 263 is being extended because it is less frequent than the 277 which would cost much more to extend to Holloway and it's questionable if there is enough stand space at the Nags Head to cope with the 277 on top of an unextended 263 and the 254.

I wonder if TP's or TE's will be used as cover for the extension.

I wonder if TP's or TE's will be used as cover for the extension. Some more TEs are due to move to PB once VWs moves over to HT from PA. I suspect that TE910/912/913/914 are the likely ones to move to PB in due course.
