I have been puzzled by some name changes. There was a bus stop on Forest Road, that was called 'Walthamstow Police Station', as like every public service these days it got closed. After a while it was renamed 'Wosley Avenue' dispite there being a school and a medical centre right opposite the stop.
Another example, further down Forest Road, was a bus stop called 'Wood Street Library' which was changed to 'St Johns Road' when it clearly should have been called Fulbourne Road/Wood Street.

A bus stop not too far from my home used to be called 'Aerodrome Way' on route 111. These days Aerodrome way is an industrial estate but many years ago it was a small airport during the war. It was a long stretch which now has a Housing Estate a school and an industrial estate on it. However as the aerodrome is no longer there I had sent an email to. TFL regarding a name change. I sent an email asking to change the name from 'Aerodrome Way' to Harlech Gardens which is the Housing Estate. Two weeks later I got a response to say they are to change the name. 3 Weeks later bus stop names were changed which was followed by iBus. So that was you who got it changed! I remember back in 2011 finding it changed and also announcing "Homerton High Street/Hackney Hospital" for a while, great suggestion Jack also managed to get "Rugby Road" changed to "Twickenham Stadium" Don't see the point of "Hounslow Civic Centre"to "Lampton Road/Hounslow Civic Centre" Beckton School has been changed to "Sullivan Avenue" on the bus stop but iBus still shows and announces the old name Indeed it was! Yes i remember i found it so weird of all the places to announce it was somewhere on the other side of London! My next bus stop name i'd like to see changed is "Hogarth Gardens" to "Heston Community School" or "Heston Schools" Sent an email not to long ago so i guess we have to wait and see..

One thing that has puzzled me is 2 stops one after another in Twickenham. One is called "York Street/Twickenham", The next "Twickenham/King Street" Also, anyone know why the White Horse terminus at East Ham is now (has been for a while) been changed to "Central Park"?
I have no problem with stops being named after something has disappeared, as often locals know it as that and it is more beneficial than calling it after an anonymous side street. Re classic example the controversy over Croydon"Airport." Obviously, it makes sense to re-name a stop after something like a Police Station has closed.

I noticed today that TfL have been out with their sticky labels to change some of the stop names at Charlie Brown's Roundabout. The stops formally named Chigwell Road have been renamed. The eastbound stop formerly called "Woodford Avenue / Beehive Lane" has been renamed "Longwood Gardens". The I-Bus and stop name on the flag were not co-ordinated this afternoon - I-bus still using the old name for some reason. I don't know why TfL feel they need to faff about with names. I wonder if someone just gets bored and decides they need to change things to justify their employment.

With the second change I think you'll find you got them flipped around Anyway, this now leads to: Highwood Gardens > Glenwood Gardens > Longwood Gardens; when going towards Ilford
The other day I posted about the Beckton School > Sullivan Avenue issue, they finally changed the name on iBus towards Plaistow (after more than 6 months) but towards Beckton Station it remains as before. By Cyprus Station the pair of "Strait Road/East Ham Manor Way" and "Learoyd Gardens" stops were changed to "Royal Docks Medical Centre" at some point. By Putney Bridge the "Putney/St Mary's Church" stops have been renamed to "St Mary's Church/Putney Pier". In Whitton at least one of the "Heathfield Library" stops became "Whitton Corner Health & Social Care Centre"

The stops at Becontree Heath Morrisons have recently been renamed Morris Road. Meanwhile, the stop that was Barking Bus Garage Fair Cross (Incorrect spelling), is now plain Barking Bus Garage, whilst the next stop along (Upney Lane) has now been renamed Faircross (Correct spelling. However, buses still show the incorrect Fair Cross when turning at the garage.

Prince of Wales Drive, Parkgate Road and Petworth Street should have this added to the iBus announcements - Alight here for Battersea Park because most people don't know the appropriate stop to get off for Battersea Park if you are coming from Chelsea or Clapham Junction on the 49, 319, 345, N19 & N31.

Further along the 49 and 319 route (also affecting the 35/37/77/219/337/G1) there is a stop called Clapham Junction/The Northcote, which confuses passengers unknown to the area as they think that is the stop for the main Clapham Junction interchange. I think that stop name should be changed to Battersea Rise/The Northcote.
