I was just inspired by a comment Metrobus mentioned about renaming a stop.
Sometimes stop names aren't that useful to non regular users where a more appropriate name could be used
We can use this thread to get our ideas in the open and maybe people in the know might change it if it's necessary!
I look forward to the ideas
An example of mine
There is a stop on the 329/W8/377 that is adjacent to Enfield Town Station, but the stop is called Enfield Town/Genotin Road. On this occasion Enfield Town Station would be a more appropriate name.

A bus stop not too far from my home used to be called 'Aerodrome Way' on route 111. These days Aerodrome way is an industrial estate but many years ago it was a small airport during the war. It was a long stretch which now has a Housing Estate a school and an industrial estate on it. However as the aerodrome is no longer there I had sent an email to. TFL regarding a name change.
I sent an email asking to change the name from 'Aerodrome Way' to Harlech Gardens which is the Housing Estate. Two weeks later I got a response to say they are to change the name. 3 Weeks later bus stop names were changed which was followed by iBus.

Two things annoy Me with Bus Stop names.
1. Bus Blind/ibus display does not match the final stop name. i.e 115 to Stepney Arbour Square from East Ham last stop Marion Richardson School?
2. Obscure stop names that don't give any local landmark/area information, i.e Bazeley Street? It is right outside All Saints Church in Poplar this is more well known than a side road. the stop around the corner does say 'Poplar All Saints Church' why cant they both be the same? To TfL's credit Blackheath Royal Standard is now Blackheath Royal Standard rather than a load of side roads that were previously unheard of!

Bus Stop: Connington Road should be renamed to "Lewisham Tesco", just like we have New Cross, Sainsbury's, Foots Cray, Tesco & Dagenham Asda, Penge Sainsbury's Bus Stop: West Street should be renamed to Bromley Sainsbury's. Bus Stop: Warner Road should be renamed to Camberwell & Walworth Bus Garages Bus Stop: Bellingham Road NB should be renamed to Bellingham Road / Catford Bus Garage I think a thread for Curtailments with unless names would be quite useful as well.

Both stops for 'Dunton Road' should be renamed 'Old Kent Road/Tesco' given the fact that this is used as a turn for the 172 and 453, and the fact that the 168 terminates here.

It fascinates me how a name survives long after the landmark has gone e.g. Bricklayers Arms, the pub was demolished when the flyover was built, and Charlie Browns roundabout, you hear it on traffic bulletins, again long after the pub was demolished.

The Rotherhithe Police Station bus stop should be renamed to Lower Road / Surrey Quays Road as the Police Station closed years ago but the iBus still says Rotherhithe Police Station.

Really? Isn't the flyover named "Bricklayers Arms" ? Yes-but what I'm saying is the area took its name from the Bricklayers Arms pub, which used to stand at the bottom of Tower Bridge Road on the RHS So maybe someone wanted to continue the history by naming the flyover after the area.

The roundabout is named 'Bricklayers Arms' but the flyover is called 'New Kent Road' as it always has been.

I remember back in 2011 finding it changed and also announcing "Homerton High Street/Hackney Hospital" for a while, great suggestion Jack also managed to get "Rugby Road" changed to "Twickenham Stadium" Don't see the point of "Hounslow Civic Centre"to "Lampton Road/Hounslow Civic Centre" Beckton School has been changed to "Sullivan Avenue" on the bus stop but iBus still shows and announces the old name

I managed to help get the 'Sadlers Close' bus stop changed to 'Western Road/Mitcham Fair Green' after sending an email to the appropriate department within London Buses, who got back to me a lot quicker than I thought on the matter.
I had explained that many passengers on the Pollards Hill bound 152 won't know that Sadlers Close is the stop for Mitcham Town Centre, the next stop (Downs Road) being passed the interchange centre and beyond Holborn Way northbound into London Road.
My proposal was for them to verbally announce,"Sadlers Close....alight here for Mitcham Fair Green", but they compromised with their name change.
