Another odd occurrence on the bus network is instances where some services involve going around a full circle mid-route.
The K5 towards Morden serves the same stop at Kingston Cromwell Road twice, looping around the gyratory to serve Eden Street. I visited this bus stop recently and the time shown is the second stop, where it continues direct towards Norbiton. Understandable given there are other services which go to Eden Street.
The 265 towards Tolworth serves Roehampton Danebury Avenue, stop M twice. It detours to serve the Alton Estate, then comes back out and performs a bizarre manoeuvre which involves retracing its route passing stop M.
Not so long ago, the 269 used to leave Bromley North, go straight past the first stop then serve the town centre before actually picking up at Bromley North. I don't think it does this any more.
Are there any other routes which do this?
I'm also interested in routes which serve stops on both sides of a road in a single trip - the 224 does this at Alperton Station to facilitate a detour into the Sainsburys.

IIRC, the 142 serves stops on both sides of Station Road towards Watford Junction.
The 474 uses two different stops on the same side of the road in North Woolwich

Until mid 2012 the 224 served Abbey Road twice towards St Raphael's between Twyford Abbey Road and Whitby Avenue, because of a one-way system. However, a contraflow bus lane has been created on Twyford Abbey Road which has removed this duplication; in the reverse direction the existing route applies but there never was any duplication in that direction. Oh, and the 203 towards Hounslow had two consecutive stops called "Ashford Hospital", but since then the one outside the grounds has been renamed to "Town Lane/Ashford Hospital".

There is an oddity at Asda Roehampton where buses take the underpass under A3 go around a roundabout and back under same bridge before rejoining A3. Buses in both directions can be seen facing each way to/from A3
In Eden Street Kingston 65 (24 hour) and N65 use different stops of a pair southbound, the E tiles suggest buses for Chessington should stop at both although they are only about 20 metres apart

The N1 towards Tottenham Court Road and Thamesmead serves the same Thamesmead Town Centre bus stop.

In my area the 339 serves both stops in wick lane in both directions on both sides of the road. Also the 488 serving Bromley by bow station on both sides of the road

Not quite the same stop twice but the W11 goes through Crooked Billet Sainsburys in a loop and although there are two stops the reality of the road layout is that buses in each direction stop *between* the two actual stop poles! Regulars understand this but if you were a stranger you could wait at the "towards Walthamstow" stop and never have a bus physically stop by the pole. For fun on buses going round loops then try the 490 and 482 between T5 and Hatton Cross. Your head will spin as you go round and round (cue the Sugababes ) I suspect the 224 serves the same stops at St Raphaels in each direction but I've not ridden that route yet. The 167 loops round Buckhurst Hill station in both directions and is slightly off the main line of route. The 549 does the same but does actually pass the station. The 20, 167 and 397 loop round through Loughton station and the 20 and 397 serve "the Crown" and "Sainsburys" stops in both directions. Even more oddly there are three stops called "the Crown" in Loughton so the 20 and 397 go "The Crown", "Loughton Station", "Sainsburys" and "The Crown" in the both directions. The 308 serves the same stop at Stratford City in both directions.

I'm not sure about other routes that serve a stop twice in one trip but just like the 269, the 289 heading towards Elmers End actually goes past the Commerce Way stop in Purley way and serves two more stops in the Purley Way Shopping Centre before rejoining Purley Way and then serving the Commerce Way stop. The 455 serves stops on both sides of the road in Purley Road where the Tesco superstore is, in one trip (The first stop is Purley Station, Purley High Street and the next stop is Purley High Street, Purley Station). I find this quite annoying especially when passengers board at the first stop and then alight at the next stop. Yes, the road is difficult to cross as its so busy but it still annoying

The 224 again serves the same stops when exiting the Twyford Abbey Road area. The W9 in the Green Dragon Lane Area serves IIRC Stops 'Highlands Avenue, Eversley Park road' in order to serve the Highlands Avenue Sainsburys.

Although not quite the same stop but I believe the 85 uses the same piece of road junction twice in the Roehampton area when heading towards Kingston.
I haven't been on the route for quite a few years, not since the single doored DB250s were on it.

I haven't been on the route for quite a few years, not since the single doored DB250s were on it. It serves Roehampton Vale Asda, loops the roundabout then heads to Kingston Vale onto Kingston Hill leading to Kingston Hospital and Kingston Town Centre. Does not serve the same stop in either direction. The 265 serves "Roehampton Lane / Danebury Avenue" twice when heading to Tolworth
