With the Wood Wharf development on the way another bus route here will be needed so maybe in the future the 330 will come to Canary Wharf vis Wood Wharf. Where is Wood Wharf? If you think about where Canary Wharf LU station is - then Wood Wharf is just to the east (of the eastern end of the station) across a small harbour area and before you hit where the D6 & D7 run on Prestons Rd. It's an area of small industrial units / business park plus some open space. It is due to be turned into yet another monstrous mass of skyscrapers. There were plans in a long term development paper for the DLR to build a new DLR line through that area so trains from Stratford would head straight south from All Saints missing out Poplar and West India Quay and serve Wood Wharf and then curve round to link into the existing DLR south of Heron Quays. The artists impression I've seen of the current Wood Wharf plans do not include any DLR line. Therefore how on earth tens of thousands more people are going to squeeze through the east end of Canary Wharf LU I don't know. Crossrail will help post 2018 but there will be massive pressure on the Jubilee Line in the meantime. You'll certainly need more bus services and more capacity on existing ones.

Indeed, I just looked up the Wood Wharf on the Internet which is located around the Prestons Road/Marsh Wall and the impression of it doesn't look bad. But I fail to see why so many skyscrapers need to be built around that area, especially when it is near Canary Wharf which have lots of skyscrapers already. It would definitely be useful to extend 330 to Canary Wharf via that development and possibly 15 aswell.

Route 330 is so short! It could do with an extension both ways! How are you thinking of extending the 330? I was thinking via Snaresbrook... but the bridge at the station seems a bit short for DDs. Canary Wharf is close to Canning Town too... should definitely be extended there, either via the 115's route or the 474's DDs can pass under the bridge at Snaresbrook, I've been on Rail Replacement buses that went under it. But I can see why you came to that conclusion because the W14 SD also the W13 and 66 which occasionally use DDs avoids this bridge.

This is another extreme long proposal! I do agree with the canary wharf extension but I would want it to go to stratford city to provide a direct link to upton park and plaistow and re-route the 308 via woodgrange road and romford road allowing the 330 to serve the forest lane and water lane residents. Whipps cross sounded like a good idea but the lack of stand space ruined any chance of this extension happening.

With the Wood Wharf development on the way another bus route here will be needed so maybe in the future the 330 will come to Canary Wharf vis Wood Wharf. I do wonder how many Canary Wharf folk would want to travel to wonderful places such as Canning Town , Plaistow and Upton Park You'd be surprised. First time buyers are being priced out of places such as Hackney and Walthamstow, so are having to find places in areas which no signs of gentrification at all. I know people in their 30s working in the City and Docklands who live in places such as Poplar, Barking, Ilford. And of course, as mentioned, you've also got plenty of ancillary workers who may find such as service useful. I agree that short extensions of the 5 or 277 may be better ideas though. With the Whipps Cross extension, I don't think it is needed, for reasons already covered here. I don't think there would be enough demand.

The bridge at Snaresbrook station poses no risk to double deckers. The road layout was dug down around 1947, so buses on route 10 could use it when the level crossing would have been removed from Eagle Lane for the electrification to extend the Central line over GER tracks. Bridges over 16ft do not need to display a warning sign and that bridge is over 16ft hence no warning sign. As mentioned above, buses on rail replacement with double deckers regularly use it. It would be a major waste to extend the 330 to Whipps Cross. Especially if nearby W19 goes over this section. So many options, i.e. get the 58 instead of the 330, then change at Thatched House and get a 257. Or go up to Leyton Town Hall and get a W15
