The concerns were that the 466 would not be sufficient enough for the loafs from TC to East Croydon even thou it was probably about 2 or 3 stops no longer served as it would still have served the Swan and Sugarloaf thou i think there was some bad press at the time about the 466 being unreliable when Arriva took over.
The PVR would defo have reduced as the 312 would have dropped to every 15 mins ad stand time would have been reduced as no 312 would have stood at TC and no 412 at W Croydon plus the short solo 312/412 sections removed.

I wonder if TfL will push for route 312 conversion again especially if surplus buses off route 159 if it gets LTs.

Maybe, but in practice the 312 is nearly all double deck already. In any case there will be plenty of surplus buses with the loss of the 109 and 415.

Should also see the 130 run a bit more reliably as it would miss the peak hour traffic in Addiscombe & along the Lower Addiscombe Road. As for the extension, has it not gone ahead due to issues with Park Road? Personally, I'd of routed it via South Norwood Hill & Whitehorse Lane. I read somewhere that the extension didn't go ahead as the extra buses had to be used to cover the diversion route. It may be put off now until the route is retendered? Yes I thought South Norwood Hill and Whitehorse Lane would be a more logical route I would imagine going along the High Street is more benifcial for passengers wanting the shops and station ... In all honesty not much in the way of a traffic objective via South Norwood Hill. I am expecting the extension to coincide with the Spring Lane bridge re-openning. Could do with a stop between Harrington Road and the Clock Tower though. Maybe then the 312 could use the 130s stand space ... but would mean it would have to be all single decked.

If anything, some of the DW's should be on the 197 which still has DLA's and T's helping out.
