Day 1 5 out of 6 not single decks DLA270 DLA287 DW21 DW101 T57 Lol I like how my idea of Day 1+ has Ben used for a double decker on a single decker route lol

That's by no means unusual, the 166 and T31 have to be single deck and the 312 gets whatever is left over

I think the 312 could be extended to Purley and replace the 412 and double decked.

I think the 312 could be extended to Purley and replace the 412 and double decked. The problem last time was a reduction in capacity between South Croydon Swan and Sugar Loaf and South Croydon Bus Garage to East Croydon, as there would only be the 466 if the 312 were sent across the 412 routing. Of course the 197 could just be extended the short distance down the road and solve that problem. Yes the 197 would be the simple solution, as it is many 197's go back to TC out of service for driver changeovers

An expensive solution, but what exactly is the problem?

Indeed, the 197 would be the ideal route due to its close proximity to the 312 and the fact it would maintain a link between Norwood Junction & South Croydon garage. That said, the 312 is hardly heaving between East Croydon & South Croydon garage - from experience, majority of passengers get off & on at East Croydon & Park Street with just a handful (or even if that) if passengers continuing on.

Shame the 468 no longer goes to South Croydon Bus Garage.

Why does the T31 have to be single ? Presumably either to appease residents or a problem with trees

Presumably the 312 will return to its original route if and when the problem with the bridge in Spring Lane is sorted out? The 119 also links East & South Croydon as far as the old Swan & Sugar Loaf

Bridge totally closed in the meantime

Why does the T31 have to be single ? To be fair, whenever I see the T31, it seems to cope reasonably well with its current buses, as horrid as they are lol.
