I was just wondering, Post Deregulation, were there ever occurrences whereby RM's would ever do duties on N Prefixed routes, or even an odd rounder. I wondered, because a lot of RM blinds that Westbourne Park had, had N23 blinds fitter.. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. Will.

Do you mean post privatisation as London has never been deregulated? I am not aware of RM type vehicles having sneaked into night service primarily because there would not be any conductors rostered at night. I believe LT abolished crew operation on night routes in the 1980s when it started to revamp and restructure night bus services but I'm not certain of the exact date. There are two excellent books on the LT Night Bus service but I only have Vol 1 - I expect those books will record any odd workings. Book vol 1Book Vol 2

The N93 was the last Routemasters operated night bus route , from Holloway garage , between Victoria and Hampstead Heath. Converted to one person operation 26th October 1984.
There was a Routemaster night service, the H29 which ran from Charing Cross to Harlow , between April 1992 and May 1993
If you are interested in night buses I would thoroughly recommend the books Snoggle mentions above, I have both volumes and they are intriguing.

I have a vague memory reading one of the LOTS magazines from the 90s where a Routemaster was reported used on a night route on New Year's Eve. Not 100% sure but it may have been a SW bus on the 'old' N87, part of which is now the N155.

Thanks everyone, I do have both books, I just wondered if any RM's had sneaked onto any night routes, post privatisation. Route 12 used to have some pretty late RM journeys pre bendy days around midnight the last RM journey back to Peckham/Dulwich used to run , were as the other RM routes OPO buses were pretty much the normal thing from about 22:00 that then ran the night duties but I don't think any ever had any scheduled Night journeys.
