Possible solutions to your problems: 1 Don't use the Wifi on London Underground 2 Join a mainstream network 3 Get a friend that is on a mainstream network to turn his personal Hotspot on and then connect to that 5 Get a Jet pack and just 3G 4 I'm not very good at counting am I Think of it this way. When you buy a cake, you pay something for it, right? Why? Because the person who made the cake has put work into it. Why would they make a cake if they knew they would get nothing out of it? Even if all the ingredients they needed to make the cake were free, they still had to put their time and effort into it. If I asked you to come to my house and clean the entire thing from top to bottom every single day for the next two years and gave you nothing for it, would you do it? No. If everything was free, nothing would be produced, no one would work and basically all the economies would collapse the world would be, in one word, screwed. I recommend that you go out and get yourself a part time job. You'll understand the importance of money and why we pay for things. 1. i wouldn't anyway because you got to pay Richard Branson of Virgin media for the Underground wifi. 2. no i won't because it's too expensive. 3. how would I? 4. not invented yet Well yes I would because someone made a cake, the money goes to their ingredients, gas/electric to bake it and the person for doing the work. But like in the States, there are free wifi as advertised, you don't end up having to pay again to use their service. But instead its just free for anyone to access to the internet. But with my tax money going to TFL and invest on their projects like wifi on underground, it should be free and have limited access so you don't have commuters spending hours watching YouTube on a tube station bench. TFL is owned by the people for the people so wifi on the underground should be free and not for giving money away to private corporations to make their own profit, that's what socialism is about. Yes I am not the only person on the planet to hunt for a job, I am just basically putting in my ideas on what TFL should be doing to benefit passengers rather then connect a wifi only to see propaganda from Virgin media and making people pay to use the whole of the internet. I am not turning this discussion into a political debate, Now it's time that we go back to topic and talk about this somewhere else. Become a Virgin Mobile customer ... Their tariffs are not expensive ... and on a month by month basis.

Top up £10 and you get 3000 texts and 1 GB data. £15 gets you 3 GB. Now I'm posting this from my phone and this "a" won't go away. I can't write after it either. a

I now use my phone for video streaming I would never have dreamed of whilst metered.

Further to this, Tower Transit's Hydrogen Bus WSH62994 usually found on the RV1 has also been fitted as a WIFI trial vehicle too.

Nothing in life is FREE, if there is FREE wifi then you should always use with caution!
Firstly whoever owns the wifi network is legally entitled to intercept any data that is transmitted or received using THEIR network.
Secondly other users connected to the same wifi network can hijack your session with the simplest of tools, your session to Facebook, twitter etc.
It says FREE but your giving away your information exactly like you do when you install an innocent looking app that asks for permissions that has nothing to do with what your installing.
I'm not trying to scaremonger here....... just making you aware.

^ (one of the reasons I invested in a MiFi thing instead) Personally I prefer The Cloud as a WiFi provider as on the Overground - despite the owners.

Another wifi trial on London Buses - this time on route 12 and the RV1. Mayorwatch articleTfL press releaseMakes me wonder what the status of the trial on the NB4Ls is. Looks like the "intelligent bus" stuff is going to be trialled as follows - spare seats upstairs indicator on a route 141 bus - bigger info screens on the 12 (two buses), RV1 (1 bus) and 360 (1 bus). There's also something about bus station screens. Having tried to use the one at Vauxhall recently I thought it was useless as the routes I wanted weren't shown!

Really enjoyed using the Wifi on LT9 today it was super quick and easy to connect to. Hope this is rolled out across atleast 50% of the bus network.

I've already been on a 12 with a larger info screen, using a map and GPS to tell the passenger where exactly the bus is.

Somewhat related:
I've noticed both "Virgin Media Wifi" and "Vodafone Wifi" on the Underground. Both connect fine without passwords for me. I thought Virgin Media was the provider of wifi on the tube. Have Vodafone now also installed their own equipment?!..and if they have, what is the point?!
