Noticed a bus map change following Route 207 It seems that Route 207 is being Curtailed to Southall Police Station/ Eastbound 427 & 607 are diverting via South Road, Beaconfields Road and Trinity Road/ also the N207 is diverting via Lady Margaret Road, Ruislip Road and The Parkway while works on Southall Broadway take place. Not sure of the duration of these works, so if anyone has anymore details to add reply below.

News to me. Lady Margaret Road temporarily gets a night service. TFL does not mention it and London bus net doesn't either. When does it start? And when does it end?

As much as I know that Southall don't look great, please don't tell me that's how Southall will look after the works, with 'Kilburn' lookalike 'alien' lampposts and more calming measures. Honestly, these town centre planners have no clue!!!

Honestly, these town centre planners have no clue!!! I think you have summed it up... I think it's going to be a similar deal to the Walworth Road, lowered pavements to slow drivers down, for some reason they are putting fancy flagstones down on the pavement as if that will smarten up the area, but with Southall, it can't get any worse it is painful, even by car to get from one end of Southall to the other. Www.ealing.gov.uk will have more details on what they are up to in the area...

Everything's going to change, but we ain't sure yet. All we know is that our meal reliefs will be in Uxbridge (427) and Southall Park/Broadway (207). We also know the rota is being split, so we'll only be doing 207 or 427 all day (no mixture)

Looks like a load of old identikit b*ll*cks being perpetrated by Highway engineers. They've done this all over London thereby wrecking the traffic flow, making roads more dangerous to cross and slowing buses down. The Southall scheme actually removes a bus lane so that's a real help to making bus services more reliable - not! I hate all these schemes.
In Walthamstow they've narrowed a previous two lane approach to traffic lights to one lane (Hoe St / Church Hill). The result is that jams now extend from that junction to the Bell meaning it takes 20 minutes to get to the Central - slower than walking pace. Utter insanity.
I feel sorry for users of the 207, 427 and 607 - they're going to have months of hell trying to travel across Southall during the works. I wonder if the 427 is going to be enhanced? If not it's going to be chronically overloaded west of Southall.

I'm sure Identikit Bollox isn't the description of the 'olde fashioned Edwardian style' lamp posts, sorry street furniture Ealing Council is getting this tat from... if anything they should just delete the bus lane, make it a red route so no one can stop or park, except buses at stops to increase the speed of traffic flow. as for Walthamstow, it is a nightmare getting to Central Station... All town planners are going nuts with their town centre modelling... They've dug up half of Brentford to build a 'stylish new piazza', but this ain't Madrid... They could have used the money to get rid of that derelict W&K factory on the High Street along with that eyesore Goddards, or at least give them a grant to fix up...

Plus bus stop closures etc as well. I've been meaning to post about it for a while the typical "traffic calming" nonsense, did it on Norwood Road with the 120/E5 by adding several humps, also several humps added on the nearby Merrick Road which is busy and not along a bus route, just because there is a school there.

Those are pretty narrow side roads with trees on both sides, surely that isn't a good idea with deckers? (Although I'll admit it that already happens with the likes of the 81/104/105 to name a few). The right from South Road to Beaconsfield Road is going to be a nightmare for traffic, while the right onto Trinity Road will be fun... These works were originally meant to finish in April but will now continue until December! Plus the same time they're doing something on The Green as well.

It really is crazy what's going on. wWith all the increased cycle lanes, banning turns so you have to travel further to get to where you want to get to, pavement widening, reduced bus lanes, 20mph boroughs etc we will rapidly reach total gridlock. Some bus routes are painfully slow as it is (and I say this as someone who generally enjoys riding buses!)

It's all in an insincere effort to appear 'green' by reducing pollution... but in reality, most vehicles, including cars will be driving in second or third gear, as you're too slow to go into 4th where you burn less fuel, so vehicles will all sound like they are just moving off... That's until Islington bring in their borough-wide 5mph limit next year Surprised there's no plan by these Eco nutters to bring all the motorway speed limits down to 30, single carriageways to 20

Southall, already a hell trying to get through normally, now just gets worse. Removing the bus lane is pointless, wrong and just annoying. In any case, the traffic needs to flow MORE, not less through the area! The narrowing of the Uxbridge Road is just going to spread the traffic more, with tailbacks getting further and further! How crazy are Ealing Council planners? Very, it seems.
N207 going via Southall North, well that'll be quite interesting! 427/607 via narrow roads, that'll be even more interesting! Why not route the 607 via the N207 diversion because it'd miss one stop, but a lot more traffic missed too (I'd assume as it avoids a lot of Southall Broadway)?
