Ba******. No matter what Hamas is doing, nothing can justify what Israel is doing, especially with probably 200 of those deaths civilian casualties.

Although Hamas is a terrorist organisation and is helping to creating havoc in the region, this most certainly does not justify Israel's 'self defence' by shelling the Palastinians. Don't forget though thanks to the 'special relationship' Israel can be more prepared with both warning systems and weapons, while the Palastinians don't have as much arms or funding. Also, I just don't understand why and how (whoever shot the plane down) they would target an Malaysian airliner carrying civilians, none of which were from Russia or Ukraine, and even if any Russians and/or Ukrainians were on-board it would've still been an very sickening and vile attack on innocent people.

Regarding Palestine and Israel, you have to understand why Hamas is doing what they are doing. The Palestinians have gone through a lot of suffering and it's only natural some people are going to at least try and do something about it. Regarding Ukraine and MH17, I've watched enough Air Crash Investigations* to know that following a plane crash, the media will always tell you it's been shot down if there's even the slightest chance. Usually it's totally bogus. Unless it's proven, I'm not going to believe it. *Air Crash Investigation is a documentary that comes on National Geographic and investigates air crashes (obviously). If you don't watch it, you should. It's very good and very popular.

I feel for the people who lost their lives on the plane as well their families - so sad & tragic
As for the Gaza conflict, both Israel & Palestine are as bad as each other - the only sympathy I've got is for the poor civilians caught in the crossfire - fancy blowing up a group of kids playing football - utterly sick & vile.

I've studied this conflist extensively at school and I can tell you that while what Hamas is doing is wrong, there are actually very valid reasons to justify what they're doing. For instance, being denied supplies like medicine, being bullied by Israeli police and the army, being forced off their land, being forced into refugee camps which are in an appaling state. Like I said before, it's only natural someone is going to fed up and is going to try and do soemthing about it.

Yes I agree, Israel are bullies but Hamas is as good as a terrorist group, nothing justifies sending rockets into countries whether your the victim or not - end of the day, both countries should being utter idiots, get around the table and negotiate a fair deal where both Israelis & Palestinians can live side by side without this stupid nonsense going on.

True. Like for example, Hamas refuse a ceasefire. That's affecting the Palestinian citizens only. But in all fairness, Hamas' rockets are like matchsticks, water bombs. They've killed one person while Israel has killed loads.

I certainly don't give a s**t about your opinion on the whole Gaza situation, not only because I don't agree with it, but because it's the innocent people paying the price (in both cases), that we should be worried about! My heart goes out to all those affected by the MH17 incident. Could this thread be used for (as the title suggests) MH17 matters only...

( , no offence @dan) Back to MH17, the saddest thing is that it's just a few months after MH370, which was the same airline. Malaysian Airlines going through difficult times. PS:Did you know, Biman Bangladesh Airlines have never suffered a fatal crash. With the big boys, Singapore Airlines have suffered one fatal crash in around the last 40 years.

One last thing about Gaza, something very sad. A five-month old has sadly been killed by Israeli forces yesterday/early today. Now, like Connor requested, no more talk about Gaza (I did start this thread after all).
