Hey all! I tried out this new app GeoNet. It connects users together automatically that are travelling on the same bus route and allows them to broadcast messages to each other. Has anybody else here tried this out yet? play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.geo.geonet

This app has good potential. The UI is clean. GPS is accurate. I wonder if it will take off though.

Yeah agreed. It will need quite a large density of people to actually make it useful. It would make a good distraction for those long bus journeys though!

I dont quite get it. The only benefit I can see is when I want to speak to someone next to me on the bus, but I was doing a sponsored silence , I can use this to communicate with them. Great.

It would actually be good if it was a sort of dating app where you can message people on the same bus route but other than that, why would you randomly start messaging strangers?

"Hello pretty lady did you know that this bus is a Volvo Megasupertastic D78L with Wrightbus Gemini 22 bodywork? Do you like the nice engine noises? I do " from weird person sitting *right* behind you.

haha yeah using it to talk to the person next to you would be far fetched, but I can see it would work in say a situation where you were waiting at a stop for ages (if a bus broke down or something), you could message people at other stops to see if they knew anything :3 And judging by how antisocial people on buses are anyway, they need something like this to kick off a conversation

Care to tell us whether you have any relationship to the app - as in you created it or you work for the company that did? You seem to be on a one person promotional campaign hence the question.
