Jumped into one of the hybrids from the yard today, and the drivers cab was spotless and the dash had been done with back to black!! Well done cleaners at basildon bus garage.

Ha! I hope the cleaners will do the same at our garage when we eventually get them. Hybrids are good buses

You've gone to first Essex? Yep. Why did you leave Go-Ahead?

Why did you leave Go-Ahead? Got to the stage where I just had enough of them, plus basildon depot is 10-15 mins from where I live.

How are you finding having to deal with cash fares and variable fares compared to everyone just going "beep" as they use their Oyster cards? Must be a bit of a culture shock.

It's been a HUGE culture shock! Ive taken £800 in one day, loads of different fare stages, single door buses(so slow loading/unloading), bus stops that are quite frankly in stupid and dangerous places, and some stops are just a raised kerb! But, TBH, the passengers have been brilliant, and its nice to actually talk to them! Basildon bus station in the eastgate centre is like an episode of jeremy kyle everyday And the drivers are a great bunch. The route timings are awful though, and i'm constantly running late, but will get quicker when I know all the fare stages.

If you get an opportunity to work out of Chelmsford you'll like it there too! That said, wouldn't entertain going back on the buses at all now.
