I really struggle to see how X140 will operate on a 12 minute frequency and with a PVR of 10. It just doesn’t seem possible. It's almost as if its doomed to fail, and then TfL can reduce its frequency and shave a bus off the PVR.

Looking at the timetable, the maximum duration for any journey is 48 minutes, given the severely limited-stop nature of the route this should be achievable. Ten buses operating on a 12-minute frequency gives each bus gets two hours to do a rounder, and this includes at least 24 minutes of stand time.

Because there is no money, they've made do with existing pvr from the current 140. It will be an interesting experiment. All fine when no issues on M4 /A312 etc. It will be an interesting case study. And it will meet at Hayes with the 607 so you can sample two differing express routes easily in one hit.

It’s been mentioned before that all 4 express routes are connected where you could get a X68, X26, X140 then 607

Just under a fortnight to go for the X140/278 and me and my colleagues who commute from areas affected don't think we've seen a single piece of publicity on stops relating to the changes. @ldnbusupdates may aswell be taken on officially at this rate!

LDN bus updates has put posters up about the 306/391 changes, I'd imagine he's done some for the other forthcoming West London changes

There is a spider map, (but only if you know where to look). Map But I can’t find one for 218, 306, 319 so that is hidden

For those who haven't seen these fantastic posters...

For those who haven't seen the fantastic posters... These posters are brilliant. The individual(s) involved have really put in effort to illustrate the details of these changes. If only TfL was efficient with their changes' publicity. On another note, it is remarkable that we under two weeks away from these West London changes happening. It will be interesting how these new routes get on in the coming weeks after their launch. I honestly don't know how the route X140 will work. A great idea on paper but will work in reality especially since traffic along the 140 route is unpredictable. Also, I can see the route 278 not coping well at all as well once passengers learn of stop by stop link to Hayes and Harlington (replacing the 140).

Within very little time I predict it just won’t be able to cope at all. Like you I think the 278 will be the same. That won’t be able to cope either before long. Heathrow Central bus station does not have anymore stand capacity for any more bus services to be improved which in that sense isn’t TfL’s fault but I guarantee they’ll use it as an excuse to not bother trying to make any of the services better should they need to be looked at. “Heathrow Central can’t support any more capacity to increase the frequency of any routes so no improvements can be made at this time” and then just wash their hands of it.

I imagine the impending Heathrow expansion also has probably put TfL off from altering buses too much in that area, pointless changing things just for the whole bus station to be bulldozed soon after.

True point that I forgot about that. I still wonder if it’ll go ahead you know though but that’s totally another matter.

When you look at the X26 demand has pretty much outstripped supply since it began. I can see the X140 proving popular with passengers even for just local journeys due to the quicker journey times.
