I wouldn't see the point of the 86 getting the 177 Scanias, Considering by the time the 86 will only have about a year till renewal and I am guessing Hybrids would be preferable for a route which is always clogged up in traffic. I agree. However, I think it would make more sense for the 177's buses to go to the 294 and 247. Alternatively, they could go to the 97 with the Omnicities continuing into the new contract from 2017. Just need wait until Spring 2015 to find out... The 294 has a length restriction which prevents 10.5m Tridents being used, so highly unlikely you'll be seeing Omnicities on it.

One question though, do you know where/why the length restriction applies? From the Stagecoach thread: 17976-17999 at NS are meant to be for the 247&294. 496 can't take LWB tridents but 10.2m e400 are ok. 294 turning circle at Havering Park and turn into Whitchurch Road from Dagnam Park Drive is why its restricted to 9.9m alx400s. 247 has no restrictions on vehicle length. Its all canteen gossip.. Just wait for the actual announcement, NS is full and how full is RM now? Yes the 498/499 would fit well in NS, a lot of dead mileage would be saved but TFL take into consideration before awarding.

Totally agree with this, at the moment TFL seem to be tking the P*** with East London Tenders Really hope something good is sorted out as BE have had the route almost 17 months and the service has been anything bus great and it STILL isn't anything like when First had he route, 2 buses today were out without blinds and one of them was only subbed due to another defect fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfp1/t31.0-8/10431253_10202145026861916_1031709673606412009_o.jpgI don't know one driver that has ever said they are happy at BE, very unlike the First days...

I can't think of any driver on the 368 that doesn't look miserable these days as well. Before the drivers used to be so happy, so friendly, they thanked every single person that tapped an Oyster on. But these days he drivers don't even look at the passengers.

I know a couple of 364 drivers who, I quote, have "had enough" of driving buses with no blinds and things generally at BE

I got to the stage where I hated it at BE. As many of you know, I was on the 498 and it got to the point where it was embarassing to drive the route.

I always feel sorry for drivers which have to drive buses which have paper and lack of proper displays. They'll probably be answering endless questions about the destination and may occasionally get a moody passenger having a go at them because of the blind issue

Then again that can only happen if there is actually a 'fit' bus to leave the garage...

The 294 used to have 10.5m tridents ( TA292 - 301 ) as I used to travel on it , when did it change ?

Wasn't there a plan to extend the route to Dagenham a while back?
