I wonder if they will manage to retain the simpler features of the old site like the stop code, route filter and ability to vary the refresh function?

I agree that TfL should really have an app for this. I rely on a commercial app for Countdown as it's easier to use than the TfL site.

It would nice if they had a mobile version of the oyster section.

It would nice if they had a mobile version of the oyster section. That is on its way - the bit for Contactless card accounts is in the new format. Oyster will be added on as will payments for things like the congestion charge and LEZ. A few weeks ago there was a tiny glitch after an upgrade which took Oyster Card account users into the new page design. They quickly cancelled that as obviously the new software / web pages aren't ready for Oyster yet. Clearly there has to be a lot of testing before they launch the new pages or else there will be massive problems for people trying to make payment, top ups or see their card usage.

Personally I think that's a big disadvantage. We're moving from web browsing to using apps with mobile net usage. TfL's websites are great on a desktop or tablet, yet the mobile site continues to be it's weak point. I'm glad to hear that Oyster Online will finally move over to the new web software, yet if I could use official TfL apps instead of a commercial app with advertising, I would.

Where as my Uk Bus Checker app is absolutely brilliant - it's reliable, covers the whole UK as well as London and even tells you the reg of the next bus (the last bit only works for TfL routes).
