It is a program that tells you exactly who is monitoring your web activity and give you the opportunity to block that activity. Users on this site (The Bus Forum) are being monitored by five external entities including (of course) Google Analytics. Then there is AlmondNet, Rubicon, Viglink and the bizarrely named "Who's amung us" (sic). Five is an unusually high number. Even Facebook only has two of the five watching user activity while the RailUK forum has two of the five plus something called Switch Concepts. Happy to say Ghostery also blocks the intensely annoying "Disqus"

Apparently Facebook monitors what sites you go on whilst you have it open in the browser. Just thought I'd throw that fun fact out there...
