I actually had a look at it last night in the yard. It is in quite a state. Looks like going from 30 odd to zero actually ripped the rear seating up from the floor.

Think ED23 could likely be a write off, judging by the damage to the bus. The damage looks about the same DW84 suffered when it hit a tree. I wish the injured a speedy recovery

There happened to be a W19 in the bus station this morning when I was there. The driver was talking to the Go Ahead controller and it was clear they were talking about the accident. I couldn't catch all the words but judging from the hand movements etc it seems the view is something was wrong with the vehicle. Now I'm not saying in any way that's definitive but I just thought I'd share it.

I really can't say too much. It was a mechanical failure and the driver did the best he could in that situation.

Not commenting on the possible causes, will leave that to the investigation, but what I will say is that when LDP120 suffered a similar fate in Woolwich Common on a 469 some years ago, it was heavily rebuilt and back in service within 5 months!!

I doubt that bus will ever get back on the road, I do know Go-ahead love their rivet guns though, so who knows....quite shocking some of their bodges they get away with....

I heard today that something on the steering gave way. However, driver was dissmissed because he had one leg on the dash and one hand on steering wheel at time of crash. He appealed and got his job back. Not saying its true, just what I was told, from a source I trust.

For some reason National Geographic refuses to commission 'Bus Crash Investigation'.
