Some of you may have noticed it is Back to the Future 'day'.
I enjoyed the trilogy, and was very outside of the box thinking. By far my favouraite pre-birth movies.
Anyway, I thought we could have some fun and predict what 2045 or the future holds for the bus network industry.
Triple deck borismaters that actually run on electricity??? Maybe there wont even be buses!!

Flying cars Food will be pill form Space travel for the general public
O hang on......
Joking aside I don't think we will see that many major changes in the next 20 years apart from more automation / internet stuff.

Bus industry issues
- funding cuts - collapse of bus services in small and medium towns as costs rise and people can't afford the fares and switch to cars or Uber type taxis. - massive pressure on environmental issues pushing up operating costs - inability to attract staff as bus drivers and fitters - in London I believe the issues with taxis / minicabs / Uber will spill over and start to undermine the bus service. I also believe Uber will start making legal challenges against TfL to run its own form of "bus" service. - concessionary travel will become unaffordable everywhere. In many places there will be no bus service to use anyway rendering it useless as a National scheme. - more traffic congestion
Sorry that's gloomy but I see far more threats than opportunities.

Interesting that the films predicted video calling being around in 2015 lol.
