What is the reason for the "first bus" indicating "Due" for several minutes before disappearing off the display completely. It seems to happen a lot and in various areas of the metropolis. Having refreshed the page about 20 times I managed to read your message before it disappeared!! I think buses can disappear for a variety of reasons - sometimes the I-Bus isn't reset after a driver change. Buses can and do disappear then. - sometimes I-Bus actually works from the timetable not the presence of vehicles. This happens near termini and can be horribly misleading. - sometimes the GPS "cells" which record / transmit were buses are become defective. Buses on the 123 regularly disappear in Tottenham (Lordship Lane) and then magically reappear on Countdown when they enter the next cell. Can be horribly misleading. - controllers may order a bus to curtail or go out of service before reaching the stop where the display is. Once the driver resets the bus to go oos or turn then the bus will disappear from the list of arrivals at a stop further down the route. - I-Bus kit goes defective - Buses go on diversion and this can create false predicted arrivals when a bus will never come if you're on the section buses are diverted away from. Eventually the bus disappears when the system picks it up back on the expected line of route. I am sure the drivers / controllers on the forum will give plenty more info as to the foibles or otherwise of Countdown.

I have noticed there are areas on routes where the iBus will go into fallback mode for a bit. The 75 does it on Mayow Road at the bottom of the hill, 314 on Sundridge Avenue, 261 Baring Road

Two days ago, I was watching the display with my 1 minute bus being overpassed by other buses. Another bus on the same route was in position 10 and expected in 10 minutes. Then while line 10 was being displayed the 10 minutes changed to 1 min. When it started back yo the first page the two buses appeared. In sequence (2 and 3) and one of them switched to due. I would bet that it was the second one.

Yes that can happen if buses are turned short and come into service earlier than expected or if they leave the terminus at a time other than the timetabled time.
