The route started March 1987 operated by London Country North West but was reassigned to London General just 15 months later. Why such a short contract and was it the shortest ever.

Given the timing I imagine London Country NW were going through post deregulation blues and had to lose unprofitable / non core work quickly. IIRC LRT owned the Optare City Pacers used on the C2 so a transfer was probably easy to achieve as it just involved staff and garage space. London General ran out of Victoria Basement which I assume was rather more cost effective than what LCNW were doing. The above is speculative so happy to be corrected by those who know.

Another plug for 'Privatising London's Buses'!
LCNW had problems with their operating base in Muswell Hill and asked to be relieved of both this and the 153. Central London Minibuses (as was) in the basement of GM took them on until they could be formally retendered.
