My cousin is a black cab driver, and he's pretty sick of the way that other cabbies turn away fares because they want cash. He will be very pleased.

I think you misread the quantity on new route masters attachment
Extra 30 to increase to 835 It says the previous 808 has already been varied to 805

Looks like a refurb for the bakerloo line stock for life extension.

Thanks anyway. I have reread the paper and it appears these 30 NRMs are a stopgap so that Wrightbus keeps one of the 2 production lines open. Clearly Wrightbus has no more orders for the type so they were planning to shut down both lines (from memory there are 6 lines, each making different bus in range). These seems a way of delaying the shutdown to give new mayor time to order more (only one production line is being kept). Also doesn't make a lot of sence to change doors and batteries on a batch of only 30 which suggests more to come. The other clue is stating 3 routes are being considered for conversion, so will need another 60 for other 2 routes (otherwise why state this as says elsewhere in doc that they are negociating with Operator). If it was final conversion it would have been easier to say nothing.

Oh yes it's a scam to keep the production lines going in the vain hope of the new Mayor being "persuadeable" as to the merits of more NB4Ls. Personally I think it's completely wrong to spend public money in this way. Wrightbus are basically being "protected" which isn't right. It would be different if we were talking about tube trains where the cost is vastly greater and there are no readily available "off the shelf" products. The bus market is completely different as there are competing products that are viable and affordable.
