To all bus drivers, I'm a black cab driver and come in peace. Like our job your job requires qualification in licensing and a duty of care of our customers. The standard of driving when it comes to seeing these Toyota Prius's all over London is shocking and I'm hoping TFL do something sharpish. Could you imagine if uber ran a bus company and just handed keys out to people who thought they would have a go at driving a bus. Just would like your thoughts or observation on what you see on londons roads.

Are the cars with small white square/diamond stickers in rear windows TfL registered minicabs? I know some of them put the TfL sticker on

Two words - Addison Lee. That is all. Two words - Addison Lee. That is all. Addison Lee, don't get me Started on them! In my previous job, delivering for Rymans, I lost count at the amount of times we were cut up, pulled out in front of, had to perform emergency stops! I remember once (I even posted it on here about them) we were travelling along Kengsington High Street and we went to turn left onto the Earls CourtRd (I think) and this Addison lee dived up the inside of our 18 tonne truck.... My driver went mad! I'd never seen him loose his cool before, we tail gated this Addison Lee Galaxy all along the road, fog beams blazing, horn blaring, right up his arse! We could only of been centimetres away from his bumper, in the end, he ended up diving down some small side road that out truck couldn't fit down to loose us! Our 18t DAF LF would of been no match for his crappy Ford Galaxy!

I can see this turning into a 'we hate minicabs' topic if we aren't careful

I can see this turning into a 'we hate minicabs' topic if we aren't careful That's one of the reasons why I haven't posted an opinion on this thread as it may appear that way based on my bus driving experience.

Not had any issues with Cab drivers, sorry but a lot of Van drivers are worse and take such dangerous risks.

Two words - Addison Lee. That is all. Addison Lee are not as bad as they used to be. A few years ago I complained about one with a dangerous road rage incident that nearly caused a collision; they had reprimand the driver over it. However many other mini cab drivers are a pain in the ass. U-turns whenever they feel like it, doing banned right or left turns, parking on zebra crossing zig zags, cutting buses up etc. Man of the Toyota Prius, Vauxhall Zafira are a pain in the rear. There are far too many minicabs and I guess they are also taking passengers away from buses. Since buses are now being held up by all these cycle friendly road layouts, it is starting to make the many Uber cars seem attractive

There really needs to be a cap on minicabs in Greater London, I don't think we need as many. there was a report a few weeks back in the Standard about a vast increase since 2009 which is all adding to the congestion problems. Their driving is appalling im sure their licences came out of the bottom of a cereal pack and they don't have the knowledge tests black cab drivers take. my rant over .

My main issue and its not confined to just minicab drivers (but they do it) is people using mobiles phones. The amount of times ive missed a set of traffic lights because they havent noticed the vehicles in front moving. I could go on but wont.

There is 8 times more Mini-cabs in london. The complaint with Uber is that they are being allowed to skip past certain rules such as not having a pre set fair. Black cqbs are annoyed simply because they cannot compete with this
Also David Cameron's children's Godmother is one of Uber's Vice Presidents

(shudders) Novice drivers getting lost due to out-of-date satnavs, wildly exaggerated fares, making up their own routes which could disappear without prior notice.... Someone has to pay for that SB200 - though a private hire vehicle, it's allowed in the bus lane having more than 12 seats
