As a member of LUL staff I use night buses to get home from work I give this example of how I think night tube will work at Brixton waiting for N2 at present there may be a dozen people waiting for the bus arrival this figure can go up to 30-40 at certain times of the week.when night tube operates a train will arrive at Brixton every 10 mins with people changing onto night bus services to complete there journey home. With the N2 being a low frequency service I can see overcrowding and possible unrest if people cannot get a bus home Bus servicel levels near terminal tube stations will need to be increased

I can see some increase for other routes like the 35 & 37 at night time revellers to Brixton for the night scene and the O2 Academy as those two routes are very busy at the weekends.

Or perhaps introduce a 24-hour service on the 432 for the relevant nights. More likely the N2 becomes a 24 hour service on the 2 at a reduced night frequency with the 432 as the supplementary service from Brixton south. This would give a slightly better service south of Brixton and with the Hopper ticket people travelling from north of Brixton to south of West Norwood won't be financially out of pocket (assuming the 2 doesn't get caught in jams or there are long connection times at Brixton).

The problem with that is the N2 goes to Trafalgar Square and it would be absurd to reroute it to Marylebone just to fit in with the daytime route. The N2 could be half hourly Fri/Sat night Trafalgar Square to Crystal Palace with an additional service between Brixton and Crystal Palace giving a x15min service over that section. As for using the 432 route number, well although Go Ahead run it now I can't see why Arriva shouldn't be able to run it at night, just for the benefit of passengers.

As someone who actually uses these routes the most logical (so unlikely to be used) solution is keep the N2 as it is same frequency as present with the 432 running every 15 mins from midnight till around 3am then every 20 mins until usual start times that would solve the possible overcrowding that I believe will occur

It lost nearly 28,000 pass jnys last year (down 7.6%). The fundamental question which needs answering is where is the demand concentrated? I've no idea. The few times I've seen it at Trafalgar Square it's never been busy when departing s/b. I suspect people wanting Brixton just take the N109/N159 as they're far more frequent. If the buses are packed all the way from Brixton to Crystal Palace then some help might be needed. If they're only packed as far as Tulse Hill then I'm unclear why you'd run extra buses to Crystal Palace.

Well I'm only guessing but it's x20mins throughout on Fri/Sat nights and it would seem appropriate to reduce the section covered by the night tube in return for an improved service at the southern end. I would imagine many people going to West Norwood and Crystal Palace will use the tube to Brixton rather than a bus all the way, less use of routes like the N68?
